Lesson 18
The Power of Divine Iconoclasm
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Jesus Christ the Master of Divine Iconoclasm provides a clear description of the service and power thereof saying,
…from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
[Mt 11:12]
Per this scripture, let one consider the literal meaning of the words KINGDOM, HEAVEN, SUFFERETH, VIOLENCE, VIOLENT and TAKE IT BY FORCE.
*kingdom Gk #932 basileia (bas-il-i-ah) it is…
1. royalty, which is…
• royal persons collectively
• royal status, dignity or power
• sovereignty
• a person of royal lineage, member of a royal family
• royal domain or realm
Per the Lord’s statement, all of the above refer to His spiritual brethren, particularly those on earth. Apostle Peter writes,
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
[I Pet 2:9]
Apostle John writes,
And from Jesus Christ, Who is the Faithful Witness, and the First Begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His Own Blood,
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
[Rev 1:5, 6]
2. BASILIA is rule, which is…
a. a principle or regulation governing conduct, actions, procedure and arrangement
b. the code of regulations observed by a religious order or congregation
c. control, government or dominion
3. BASILIA is realm, which is…
a. a royal domain
b. the region, sphere or domain within which anything occurs, prevails or dominates
c. the special province or field of someone or something
* heaven Gk #3772 ouranos (oo-ran-os) it is the sky, heaven as the abode of Yahweh, happiness, power, eternity and the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Per this scripture Christ is referring to His gospel. He specifically notes that from the days of John the Baptist until His Own tenure on earth, the KINGDOM of HEAVEN SUFFERED VIOLENCE and did so until Jesus of Nazareth was publicly revealed as the Christ and prophesied Messiah. Of all the gospels being proclaimed throughout the earth, His gospel is reviled the most because it is the only gospel that truly liberates mortal minds from satanic influence. Apostle Paul writes,
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth:
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
[Rm 1:16a, 17]
The Lord Jesus said,
If you continue in My word, then are ye My disciples, indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:31, 32, 36]
*suffereth violence Gk #971 biazo (bee-ad-zo) it means to force, crowd oneself into, and be seized
This is what the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, as the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, does. It is why satanic powers strive to hinder or stop it from effectively going forth with simplicity, accuracy and precision. While they do hinder the publication of the divine gospel in many ways in some geographical areas, they have never been able to stop it from going forth wherever and whenever THE LORD wills it to be published.
*violent Gk #973 biastes (bee-as-tace) it is…
1. as a noun, a forcer
2. as an adjective, energetic, which mean…
a. possessing and exhibiting energy, especially in abundance
b. vigorous, powerful in action and effect and effective
BIASTES (bee-as-tace) or VIOLENT describes divine iconoclasts and the spiritual energy they possess.
*take it by force Gk #726 harpazo (har-pad-zo) it means to seize, which is to…
• take hold of suddenly or forcibly
• grasp, grasp mentally, understand clearly and completely
• take possession of by force or at will
• take control of as if by suddenly laying hold
• take possession of by legal authority
• confiscate, capture, take into custody, and take advantage of promptly
HARPAZO or TAKE IT BY FORCE is what divine iconoclasts do with effective proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ reiterates that the Holy Ghost is and has always been the power of divine iconoclasts. Apostle Peter writes,
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
[II Pet 1:21]
The Lord Jesus said concerning the power of those who witness on His behalf in the earth,
But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
[Acts 1:8]
Thus, the Holy Ghost as POWER is granted only to those who believe on Christ as the scriptures have said, for empowerment to live righteously, discern truth, and carry out the Ministry of Divine Iconoclasm on earth. Apostle John writes,
He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given, because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
[Jn 7:38, 39]
Apostle Luke writes,
Therefore, being by at the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, He shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
[Acts 2:33]
The Lord Jesus said,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.
And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.
Even the Spirit of truth; Whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
But the Comforter which, is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[Jn 14:12, 16, 17, 26]
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you: but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.
And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Of sin, because they believe not on Me;
Of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and ye see Me no more:
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is already judged.
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come.
He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you.
All things that the Father hath are Mine: therefore, said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall show it unto you.
[Jn 16:7-11, 13-15]
Apostle Paul writes,
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of His.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
For if you live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit Itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together with Christ. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
[Rm 8:1-18]
It was by the Holy Ghost that Jesus of Nazareth Himself was born into the earth as a mortal man. Apostle Matthew writes,
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as His Mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of The Lord
appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His Name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of The Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with Child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His Name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
[Mt 1:18-23; Isa 7:14]
It was by the limitless measure of the Holy Ghost that Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled His duty as the Christ per Apostle John who writes,
He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: He that cometh from heaven is above all.
And what He hath seen and heard that He testifieth; and no man receiveth His testimony.
He that hath received His testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
For He Whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto Him.
[St Jn 3:31-33]
It was by the Holy Ghost that Christ Jesus suffered the shame of and died on the Cross of Calvary, then was raised again from the dead. He is the same Power by which Yahweh quickens His brethren, who reside on the earth. Apostle Paul writes,
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
[Rm 8:11]
While Jesus Christ did die to liberate all mortal minds from satanic influence, only those who come to and receive His Lordship by faith-filled obedience, will inherit the benefits of His sacrifice. He said,
All things are delivered unto Me of My Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father: neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.
Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
[Mt 11:27-30]
