Lesson 6
The Eye of the Body

Per King Solomon, there is nothing new under the sun. What is happening today has happened in some form or another in the past. He writes,
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
[Eccl 1:9]
Enoch, by whom Yahweh gave the earliest writings of righteous principles, foretold that social consciousness in the last days, would become worse than it was before the Great Flood. He said, the magnitude of moral decay would reach its highest peak, due to strong support of unrighteous principles, and willful involvement in satanic worship through idolatry, sorcery, and witchcraft. In his response to Noah, his grandson, concerning his personal dream-vision of the Great Flood, Enoch writes,
Why hast thou cried unto me with the bitter cry and weeping
And the command has gone forth from the presence of The Lord <Yahweh> concerning those <of Noah's time> who dwell on the earth that their ruin is accomplished because they have learned all the secrets of the angels, and all the violence of the Satans, and all their powers - the most secret ones - and all the power of those who practice sorcery, and the power of witchcraft, and the power of those who make molten images
for the whole earth:
And after that my grandfather Enoch took hold of me by my hand and raised me up, and said unto me: Go, for I have asked the Lord of Spirits <Yahweh> as touching this commotion on the earth. And he said unto me: “Because of their unrighteousness their judgment has been determined upon and shall not be withheld by Me forever. Because of the sorceries which they have searched out and learnt, the earth and those
who dwell upon it shall be destroyed.”
[Eno 65:5-7, 9-11]
In response to his son Lamech, regarding his firstborn son Noah, Enoch writes,
And I, Enoch, answered and said unto him: The Lord will do a new thing on the earth, and this I have already seen in a vision, and make known to thee that in the generation of my father Jared some of the angels of heaven
transgressed the word of The Lord. And behold they commit sin and transgress the law and have united themselves with women and commit sin with them, and have married some of them,
and have begot children by them. And they shall produce on the earth giants not according to the spirit, <heavenly or celestial realm>, but according to the flesh <earthly or terrestrial realm>, and there shall be a great punishment on the earth, and the
earth shall be cleansed from all impurity. Yea, there shall come a great destruction over the whole earth, and there shall be a great deluge and a great destruction for one year. And this son <Noah> who has been born unto you <Lamech> shall be left on the earth, and his three children shall be saved with him: when all mankind that are on the earth <during Noah's time>
shall die [he and his sons shall be saved]. And now make known to thy son Lamech that he who has been born is in truth his son, and call his name Noah; For he shall be left to you, and he and his sons shall be saved from the destruction, which shall come upon the earth on account of all the sin and all the unrighteousness, which shall be consummated on the earth in his days.
And after that, there shall be still more unrighteousness than that which was first consummated on the earth; for I <Enoch> know the mysteries of the holy ones; for He, The Lord, has showed me and informed me, and I have read (them) in the heavenly tablets.
[Eno 106:13-19]
The Lord Jesus compares the condition of social consciousness in the last days to that of Noah's time, prior to the Great Flood saying,
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark.
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
[Mt 24:36-39]
End-time generations live in the information age, which progressively credits the element of reason. Throughout these generations, it will increasingly become a primary practice and social thought, to redefine or altogether disregard principles that do not appeal to or accommodate the carnal rationale. When opportunity comes to learn, understand and obey divinely-inspired principles, Yahweh leaves it to each individual to accept or reject it. All opposing principles were taught by fallen angels prior to the Great Flood. Thus, they touch mortals of all nations, tribes and tongues, and are carried out through various practices of idolatry, sorcery, and witchcraft. Joshua declared to Israel what is fitting to Yahweh worshippers worldwide. He writes,
…Thus saith the Lord God Of Israel, Your fathers <and those of every nation tribe and tongue> dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.
Now therefore fear The Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood and serve you The Lord.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve The Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: <or any land in which Yahweh worshippers dwell>.
[Jos 24:2, 14, 15]
Yahweh declared through Prophet Ezekiel that which applies to all nations, tribes and tongues.
Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Yet, say ye, Why? Doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son:
The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all My statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith The Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby you have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die O house of Israel? <or any transgressing nation>
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith The Lord God, Wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
[Eze 18:4, 19-23, 31, 32]
Agents of the antichrist easily seduce mortals into embracing lies as truth, when they lack accurate knowledge and understanding of divinely inspired principles. Blessedly, it is the delight of THE LORD to impart such insight to those who sincerely desire and diligently seek HIM for it by faith. Apostle Paul writes,
But without faith it is impossible to please HIM: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek HIM.
[Heb 11:6]
Apostle James writes,
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of The Lord.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
[Jam 1:5-8]
In regard to wisdom that comes from THE LORD King Solomon writes,
Council is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early <diligently> shall find me.
Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
For whoso findeth me, findeth life, and shall obtain favor of The Lord.
[Pro 8:14, 17, 34, 35]
Today, Yahweh imparts divine insight through the teachings of HIS Son Jesus Christ Who said,
Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
[Mt 11:28-30]
Those who show no interest in THE LORD or HIS principles, remain blind to the revelations thereof and inherit the reward of all who wrong their own souls, being in love with death. King Solomon writes,
But he that sinneth against me <divine Wisdom> wrongest his own soul: all they that hate me <divine Wisdom> love death.
[Pro 8:36]
Prophet Daniel writes,
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
[Dan 12:10]
Regarding those who reject Him as the Divine Light and Source thereof Jesus Christ said,
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already; because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
<Apostle John reiterates> He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see <understand> life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
[St Jn 3:18, 19, 36]
The Lord Jesus expounds upon the quality of LIGHT that exists within every mortal spirit saying,
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body, shall be full of light.
[Mt 6:22]
Let one consider the literal meaning of the words LIGHT, BODY, EYE and DARKNESS per the Lord's statement.
*light (1) Gk #5460 photeinos (fo-ti-nos) it means lustrous, transparent and well illuminated
*light (2) Gk #3088 luchnos (lookh-nos) it is a portable lamp or other illuminator such as a candle
*body Gk #4983 soma (so-mah) it is the triune being as a sound whole, inclusive of the physical body, soul, and spirit, referring to one's mind and intellect
Apostle Paul writes,
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly <w-h-o-l-l-y>; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

*eye Gk #3788 ophthalmos (of-thal-mos) it is the eye literally and figuratively and it implies vision, which is…
1. the act or power of sensing with the eyes, sight or an object of sight
2. the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be
3. an experience in which a person, thing or event vividly or credibly appears to the mind, although not actually present, and often under the influence of divine or other agency
4. a vivid imaginative conception or anticipation
Per His statement regarding the LIGHT of the BODY being the EYE, Christ equates the EYE to one's ability to discern namely truth and falsehood. When Yahweh created mortals, their spiritual EYE or ability to discern, was SINGLE in nature, meaning it was only set at being and producing that which is beneficial to them, according to Yahweh's perspective. Unfortunately, this SINGLE-MINDED nature became TWO-FOLD or DOUBLE, as a consequence of Adam consuming the source of forbidden knowledge. This violation brought death to the SINGLE NATURE of the mortal SPIRIT, MIND or EYE. Moses writes,
And out of the ground made The Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
And the Lord God commanded the man <Adam, not Eve, the woman> saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat <including the tree of life>:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
[Gen 2:9, 16, 17]
Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which The Lord God had made. And he <the serpent> said unto the woman <not to the man Adam> Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
And the eyes of them both were opened <after Adam ate thereof>, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. <they began to see their God-given glory as something that should be covered>
[Gen 3:1-7]
In order to restore the EYE to a condition where mortals can clearly discern and obey divine perspective again, it must become SINGLE again.
*single Gk #573 haplous (hap-looce) it means to be folded together and figuratively clear, which is to be free from darkness, obscurity and cloudiness

This PHOS is Christ the Word, Who is the only ILLUMINATOR that can restore one’s EYE or ability to discern divine perspective. No other source can do this. Thus, in order for one's EYE to be restored so they may properly discern, receive and obey divine principles, they must come to Christ the Divine Light Who said,
I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
[Jn 8:12]
He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing <of the divine nature or that can please Yahweh>.
[Jn 15:5]
The Lord Jesus goes on to say,
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
[Mt 6:23a]
*evil Gk #4190 poneros (pon-ay-ros) which is hurtful or filled with hurt, evil in effect, evil in influence, calamitous, diseased, morally culpable, derelict, vicious, Lucifer himself and unrepentant sinners in general
When the EYE remains under Lucifer's influence, the entire SOMA or TRIUNE BODY remains filled with DARKNESS. Per this scripture, DARKNESS is an adjective that describes the condition of one's SOMA or HOLISTIC BEING, when their EYE or ability to discern is not yet restored to SINGLENESS.
*darkness Gk #4652 skoteinos (skot-i-nos) it means to be opaque, which is not transparent, impenetrable to light, not allowing light to pass through, not shining not bright, dark, dull, hard to understand, not clear, obscure, stupid, unintelligent and benighted, which is intellectually ignorant, morally ignorant, unenlightened, and overtaken by darkness
Christ continues His statement saying,
If therefore the light that is in thee, be darkness, how great is that darkness!
[Mt 6:23b]

*darkness Gk #4655 skotos (sko-tos) which is shadiness and obscurity
*great Gk #4214 posos (pos-os) it describes the measure or amount of something as to how much and how large
POSOS refers to the quality and degree of DARKNESS within the EVIL EYE, wherein LIGHT is DARKNESS. This describes the holistic condition of mortals who lack divine LIGHT and the ability to discern it. In the spiritually unregenerate state, the EYE is seared to the degree, where divine perspective is PERCEIVED AS FOOLISHNESS. If one’s EYE remains in the perishing state, they will never realize the reality of their unfortunate disposition and fate. Apostle Paul writes,
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience <eye> is defiled.
[Tit 1:15]
For the preaching of the cross <divine insight> is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God <unto eternal love, joy, peace and salvation>.
[I Cor 1:18]
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world <Lucifer> hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the image of God should shine unto them.
[II Cor 4:3, 4]
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles <all unregenerate sinners> walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
If so be that ye have heard Him <Christ>, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man <lifestyle>, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts <of the former lifestyle>;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness <Christ Jesus>.
[Eph 4:17, 18, 21, 22, 24]
Until one’s EYE is restored by Christ the Divine Light, they will never inherit the liberating truths or eternal benefits thereof. The Lord Jesus says to all who believe on Him as the scriptures have said,
If you continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:31, 32, 36]
