Matthew 7:21-23
True Devotion
Jesus Christ acknowledged those who SAITH or address Him as LORD, yet are people He never KNEW. Verbal confession of Christ as LORD does not in itself prove genuine devotion to Him.

Christ makes it clear that only those who do the WILL of His FATHER will enter into His Kingdom.

Indeed, many like Judas Iscariot, forsook Christ after having followed Him as disciples, and did do WONDERFUL WORKS in His NAME. [Mt 26:47-56; Lk 10:1-22] Apostle John notes that many FALSE PROPHETS went out from among their inner circle of disciples. [I Jn 2:18-20] Again, on The Final Day of Judgement, Christ will order such to forever DEPART from Him and declare that He never KNEW them.

Those who engage in iniquitous activity know they are in the wrong. They also understand that they will receive just recompense for their evil WORKS. [St Jn 3:19, 20, 36]

The Lord Jesus Christ likens those who HEAR and DO His SAYINGS to WISE people who BUILD their HOUSE on ROCK.

Christ then likens those who HEAR but DO not comply to His SAYINGS as a FOOLISH people who BUILD their HOUSE on SAND.

Christ warns that every HOUSE BUILT, be it on ROCK or SAND, will experience seasons of stormy turbulence. [Mt 6:34; 5:19; Jam 1:22-25; Dan 12:3, 10] He said that RAIN, FLOOD and WIND will come upon every HOUSE. However, the HOUSE that is BUILT on ROCK will not FALL. But the HOUSE that is BUILT on SAND will experience a great FALL.

Per these definitions, the elements in Christ’s SAYING indicate that divine intervention is available to all HOUSE BUILDERS. The elements are all figurative of living water. Water is the one element that nothing on earth can live without. Yahweh has made the ultimate sacrifice for every soul on earth. [Jer 2:13] Those who receive HIS gift of salvation through Christ benefit greatly now and forevermore. However, those who reject HIS intervention through Christ, will suffer the GREATEST FALL, which is eternal separation from HIS delightful PRESENCE. The choice to LIVE or DIE is one’s own. The wise are admonished to remain keen in discernment of Christ’s SAYINGS, so their HOUSE may remain firmly BUILT on Him, Who is the ROCK of their salvation.
