Letter of Apostle Mark
An Intimate Review
Pt 4
By Lawrence DeMetrius

Fault Finding Invoked by Manmade Traditions

In [Mk 7:1-23] Apostle Mark expounds upon religious and political leaders who sought to find fault based on traditions that had nothing to do with divine principles. Such erroneous practice was common in First Century Rome as it was in more ancient times. [Isa 64:6] Apostle Mark writes that certain Pharisees and Scribes questioned Christ about why His disciples did not adhere to the traditions of their Elders. Christ replied that such practice would be replacing divine commandments with vain traditions. Therefore, causing divine directives to become ineffective. [Mt 5:19a] Christ also taught that the nature of one’s heart is what makes them pure or defiled in Yahweh’s perspective.

Healing from Demonic Possession

In [Mk 7:24-30] Apostle Mark notes that one’s humility and reverence towards Jesus Christ can invoke deliverance from demonic possession for their loved ones.

Worthy Praise

In [Mk 7:31-37] Apostle Mark notes that effective ministry cannot elude a high level of notoriety, especially from souls who desire it. True and divine ministry calls out to those who are predestined to receive it. This is why the glories of divine ministry are expected to be noised abroad and manifested throughout all generations. It is also why such service generates great glory unto Yahweh and HIS messengers. [Mt 5:14-16; I Cor 2:4, 5]

Miracles Manifest for Specific Reasons

In [Mk 8:1-9] Jesus Christ fed approximately four thousand people with seven loaves of bread and two fish. Divine miracles are not performed simply to mesmerize people but to strengthen their faith in GOD. Miracles are powerful tools of divine iconoclasm because they draw attention to Yahweh and inspire people to put their trust in HIM and HIS Christ. [Mk 10:27]

Beware the Leaven of Unbelief

In [Mk 8:10-21] Apostle Mark notes that certain signs are not granted to non-believers. The best sign unbelievers will receive is the revelation and work of Christ and messengers. In this passage, He likens leaven to genuine faith and admonishes His disciples to beware the leaven of unbelieving Pharisees and Herod. Christ reiterates that there are many who have eyes but cannot see, ears who that cannot hear and intellect that does not comprehend divine truth. This gives credence to the idea that divine revelation is only imparted by Yahweh to certain ones. [Jn 6:44, 45; Isa 54:13; 29:11-16; Dan 12:3, 4; I Cor 2:9-16; II Tim 2:24-26] The ability to recognize HIM as the TRUE GOD and Christ as HIS Son is the greatest miracle granted to anyone. However, HE only imparts such revelation unto those who are predestinated to become HIS sons. [Dan 12:3, 10; St Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45, 65; Rm 8:30; I Jn 5:20; I Cor 1:18; II Cor 4:30]

The Cost of True Christian Faith

In [Mk 8:27-38] Apostle Mark notes that while Christ is regarded by many, He only imparts divine revelation to those who are given to Him by Yahweh and are predestined to be His spiritual siblings. [Jn 1:12, 13; 6:37-40, 44, 45; 14:21; 17:9; Rm 8:30; Heb 2:9-18] In First Century Rome, many born-again believers endured great losses due to their allegiance to Christ. Their experiences expressed how genuine belief in Christ is perquisite to being effective witnesses for Him. Christ reiterates this repeatedly and considers any opposition toward Him or the fulfillment of Yahweh’s will an invocation of Lucifer.

The Unfortunate Soul

In [Mk 9:1] Apostle Mark notes that the unfortunate soul is the one who forfeits their opportunity to properly reverence THE DIVINE. Many of these souls will not recognize the consequence of their disregard until they transition to immortality and certainly when they stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. With this in mind the Elect are not to be alarmed at the degree of wickedness some practice. All souls are warned about the consequence of sin. [St Jn 3:19, 20, 36; Rm 1:18, 19; 2:7-11; 6:23; Jam 1:13-15; Gal 6:7, 8]

The Mountain Experience

In [Mk 9:2-10] Apostle Mark writes about the transfiguration of Christ on the Holy Mountain, witnessed by Apostles Peter, John and James. These apostles heard a voice of Yahweh speak to them from a cloud, affirming Christ to be HIS Son and One to be HEARD. Every born-again believer encounters THE LORD in a way that affirms HIS reality and that of Christ being Son and One to be HEARD. This is the assurance that invokes personal belief in Christ and His Gospel. [Isa 54:13; II Chr 16:9; Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45; II Tim 2:26; I Jn 5:8-13]

John the Baptist was the Elijah of His Day

In [Mk 9:11-13] Apostle Mark notes that John the Baptist was likened to Prophet Elijah in First Century Rome. Jesus Christ affirmed that John the Baptist came and went as it was prophesied of him.

Jesus Christ Supports His Own & the Realty of Demonic Possession

In [Mk 9:14-29] Apostle Mark notes that Christ supported His disciples. He also notes the reality of demonic possession, which can be experienced by people young and old. Per Christ, some demons cannot be ejected without one having prayed with fasting.

Why Jesus Christ Tried to Avoid Unnecessary Publicity

In [Mk 9:30-32] Apostle Mark notes that Jesus Christ avoided unnecessary publicity because He knew there were people who sought to kill Him before the appointed time. Although He anticipated His Crucifixion, He did what He could to avoid offenders who sought to kill Him before the time.

True Christian Leaders

In [Mk 9:33-36; 10:42-45] Apostle Mark notes that Jesus Christ clarified that anyone seeking to be leaders in His movement must be willing to serve His brethren.

Ministry to Adolescents

In [Mk 9:37, 42; 10:13-16] Apostle Marks notes Christ’s extreme passion for ministry to adolescents. He declared that one can only enter into His kingdom as little children. He also reiterated that anyone who receives Him as a would a child, receives His FATHER in the same manner. When young people receive Christ as their Master Teacher, they allot more time for Him to nurture intimate relationship with Him and be prepared to do great works in His kingdom.

Members of Christ’s Universal Church

In [Mk 9:38-40] Jesus Christ explains that no one who performs miracles in His Name is likely to be His rival. Just because a believer is not a member of a particular Christian sect does not mean they are not genuine members and supporters of His Church.

Kindness to Christian Disciples Invokes Blessings

In [Mk 9:41] Jesus Christ explains that anyone who expresses kindness towards His disciples will be rewarded for doing so. This gives credence to the idea that true Christian disciples should allow people to bless them with kind deeds.

Cut It Off

In [Mk 9:43-48; Mt 10:28; Lk 23:43] Apostle Mark writes of Christ saying that one should CUT OFF members of their body that OFFEND. If one’s EYE OFFEND, they should PLUCK IT OUT as well. Christ said that it was better to transition into LIFE in PARADISE then into HELL where there is an UNQUENCHABLE FIRE and WORMS that DO NOT DIE. These body parts are members of one’s BODY OF DEATH or CARNAL NATURE, which is fashioned to OFFEND. Per Apostle Paul it is not and cannot be subject to divine rule, which is why every part of it is destined for HELL. [St Jn 3:19-22; Rm 3:23; 7:14-25; 8:5-13; Jam 1:13-15; Gal 6:8]
