Letter of Apostle Luke – The Gospel
An Intimate Review
Pt 6
By Lawrence DeMetrius
The Wise Choice
In [Lk 10:38-42] Apostle Luke notes that while there are many good things one should do with urgency, the most important is to receive insight from Jesus Christ. As expressed in this passage, some forfeit this opportunity by prioritizing less important activities above it. Although one may know that Christ is near, they must decide to receive of Him what they can when He is near. Christ assures that mortals who choose to pursuit the more valuable things will not be denied them. Born-again believers must know that while there are things that should be done, nothing is more important than receiving insight from Christ as did Mary, while her sister Martha busied herself with less valuable actions that can be done at another time. [Isa 55:6; Mt 11:27-30; Jn 8:31, 32, 36]
Effective Prayer
In [Lk 11:1-13; 18:1-8] the disciples of Christ ask for instruct on prayer. Christ then teaches them the elements of effective prayer which include the following.
1. When one PRAYS to Yahweh they are to SAY, which indicates the element of verbal communication to HIM. [Lk 11:2; St Jn 1:18; Heb 11:1, 6]

*say Gk #3004 lego (leg-o) it is to mean and systematically lay forth or relate in words or with a set discourse
2. Verbally acknowledge THE LORD as the FATHER WHO abides in HEAVEN. [Lk 11:2; I Cor 8:6]
*father Gk #3962 pater (pat-ayr) it is the primary word for a father near or remote and a parent
*heaven Gk #3772 ouranos (oo-ran-os) it is the sky, heaven as Yahweh’s abode, happiness, power, eternity and the Gospel of Jesus Christ
3. Make in heart and verbally declare THE LORD’S NAME HALLOWED while PRAYING to HIM. [Lk 11:2]

*bread Gk #740 artos (ar-tos) it is a loaf of bread as raised and is figurative of nurturement for the physical body
6. Ask Yahweh to FORGIVE personal sins, knowing that HE will only do so as one practices FORGIVENESS towards those who are INDEBTED to them for SINS they have committed against them. [Lk 11:4]
*forgive Gk #863 aphiemi (af-ee-ay-mee) it means to send forth from and away
*sins Gk #266 hamartia (ham-ar-tee) it is sin and offence
*indebted Gk #3784 opheilo (of-i-leh-o) it means to owe pecuniarily, be under obligation and morally fail in duty
All mortals have an obligation to do right towards themselves and one other. When they fail to do so, they INDEBT themselves as offenders for the wrongs they have done. [I Jn 3:14-18] However, FORGIVENESS is one’s own ability to remove and cast away from themselves HURTS inflicted upon them BY SATANIC POWERS, through the wrongful acts of others, including one’s own self. In so doing, they relieve themselves of such pains and initiate their own healing. This is a remarkable power, which can be done whether or not the perpetrators thereof acknowledge and seek pardon for the wrong they have done.
7. Ask Yahweh to LEAD not into TEMPTATION and DELIVER from EVIL. [Lk 11:4]

*evil Gk #4190 poneros (pon-ay-ros) it is that which is hurtful or evil in effect and influence, calamitous, ill, diseased, culpable, derelict, vicious, mischief, malice, guilt, Lucifer and unregenerate sinners
In [Lk 11:5-8, 11-13] Apostle Luke expounds upon the relevance of practicing effective PRAYER continuously.
Those who do so should expect THE LORD to ANSWER them, which HE will do according to HIS WILL. [I Jn 5:14, 15] Too often PRAYERS rendered are not compliant to THE LORD’S WILL. Therefore, HE teaches and imparts unto HIS worshipers the desire to WILL and DO accordingly. [Phil 2:13] In [Lk 11:9, 10] Christ discloses that learning to PRAY effectively is a process that can be perfected. Therefore, He admonishes His disciples to be consistent in pursuing THE LORD by continually ASKING, SEEKING and KNOCKING in PRAYER until HE provides clear answers. Yahweh intends for HIS children to learn how to effectively communicate with HIM as did Christ. PRAYER that is compliant with the WILL of THE LORD always yields the most beneficial results for HIS children. [Rm 8:28; St Jn 4:34; 8:29; Mk 3:35; I Jn 3:22] Yahweh wants born-again believers to SEEK what HE desires them to have, beginning with salvation in Christ and the Holy Ghost. [St Jn 3:16, 36; 6:37-40; 7:37-39]
The Ministry of Deliverance
In [Lk 11:14-26; 12:10] Jesus Christ teaches that any person in allegiance with Lucifer is not going to work against him. Likewise, those who are in allegiance with Him are not going to work against Him. Therefore, Yahweh grants unto true disciples of Christ the authority to effectively combat satanic forces. This authority includes casting them out of the mind, soul and body of mortals who desire deliverance from their influence. Christ clarifies that anyone who contributes the work of the Holy Ghost to Lucifer will never be forgiven of it. In fact, this is the only sin that Yahweh will not forgive. [Lk 12:10] Christ also warns that evil spirits do roam the earth seeking to inhabit mortal souls. If possible, they will reenter the souls they were cast out of, with assistance from seven other evil spirits that are stronger then they. If they do, the state of the re-possessed soul will be worse than it was before. This is why beneficiaries of spiritual regeneration and deliverance from satanic influence, must be and remain wholehearted devoted to Yahweh through faith filled obedience to Christ the Word and filled with the Holy Ghost. [Mt 5:19; Jn 8:31, 32, 36; 14:23; Rev 3:8, 10, 20]
Obedience is Better than Flattering Praise
In [Lk 11: 27, 28] Christ prefers obedience to Yahweh’s word over flattering words about Mary, His Mother.
As spoken by Prophet Samuel to King Saul, obedience is better than sacrifice in Yahweh’s perspective. One’s true devotion to THE LORD is evident in their character and conduct. [I Sam 15:22; Mt 5:19; I Jn 2:17]
Benefits of the Radiant Life
In [Lk 11:29-36] Christ teaches that where divine light exhumes, excuses for not being and doing better are dissolved. [Rm 1:16-20] Divine Light affords one opportunity to live free from the dictates of their carnal mind. [Rm 8:5-9] It also secures eternal salvation on The Final Day of Judgement. [St Jn 3:16-18; Rm 8:1-4] Those who choose to live subject to their carnal nature forfeit the benefits of divine light. In so doing, they willingly remain captives of Lucifer and will inherit his reward, which is eternal banishment from the delightful presence of Yahweh, in the Lake that burns with fire and brimstone. [St Jn 3:19, 36; Rev 20:10, 15]
Effective Giving
In [Lk 11:37-54; 20:20-26; 21:1-4] Jesus Christ foretells of what would befall the Hebrews of His day, due to their hypocrisy and murders of the teachers sent to them by Yahweh, namely Christ. He also denotes the consequence of false prophets, which will be rewarded at an appointed time. [Rev 21:8]
In this passage, Christ also denotes that practicing religious rituals like tithing and almsgiving, do not make one acceptable to THE LORD. Giving tithes and almsgiving are only accessories to practicing genuine love, which is right doing. [Lk 11:42; I Cor 13:3; Mt 23:23] Christ advises that one should pay appropriate taxes. [Lk 20:20-26] As exemplified in the offering of the poor widow, Christ explains that the amount of one’s financial contribution should be in proportion to their ability to give. [Lk 21:1-4] Proper financial investing into the works of THE LORD invoke both natural and spiritual gratuities. [Lk 6:38; II Cor 9; Acts 10].
The Fatality of Hypocrisy
In [Lk 12:1-12] Christ teaches on HYPOCRISY. He likens it to LEAVEN as it relates to religious leaders who pretentiously occupy seats of high influence. He warns that false teachers must be marked and avoided. This is possible by properly assessing their character and speech. [Mt 7:15-20; 24:5, 11, 24; II Cor 11:1-3, 13-15; I Jn 4:1-6; II Jn vs 7-11]
*hypocrisy Gk #5272 hupokrisis (hoop-ok-ree-sis) it is fictitious representation and the quality and practice of deception
*leaven Gk #2219 zume (dzoo-may) it is ferment as if boiling up
*beware Gk #4337 prosecho (pros-ekh-o) it means to hold the mind toward, pay attention to and be cautious about
Born-again believers must know that THE DIVINE GODHEAD will not permit them to be bewitched by the charisma of HYPOCRITS. [Jn 8:12] THE DIVINE is certain to expose such imposters and their lies when needed. Christ then informs His disciples to publish what He tells them to. Although genuine Christian teachers will encounter great opposition, they are to remain courageous in their missions, trusting in and fearing no one more than THE LORD. They can always do so through the strength of Christ within. [II Cor 12:9; Eph 6:10]
