An Intimate Review
Pt 1
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Matthew 1:16, 18, 20-23
Jesus Christ the Prophesied Messiah
There were and are many who bear the name Jesus. However, there is only One who is the prophesied Christ. Jesus Christ is the Offspring of the Holy Ghost and Mary the Virgin chosen of Yahweh to bear and birth Him forth into the earth. [St Mt 1:18-25; Gen 3:15; Isa 7:14, 15; 9:6; Gal 4:4-6]

Matthew 2:2-11
True Yahweh Worshipers Worship Jesus the Christ
Jesus Christ is recognized as the King of the Hebrews. THE DIVINE used stars to help locate the Christ Child after His birth. From birth, Jesus Christ was worshipped by those who worship Yahweh.
*worship Gk #4352 proskeneo (pros-koo-neh-o) it means to…
• fawn to, seek notice or favor of by servile demeanor
• crouch, bow or stoop servilely to
• prostrate or cast oneself or face down on the ground in humility, adoration, or submission
• reverence and deeply felt respect with awe
• adore and regard with the utmost esteem, love, respect and honor
As a Child, Jesus Christ was found worthy of such worship by Yahweh worshipers. It was considered fitting for Him. Whenever there is worship of Jesus Christ, there is a troubling of satanic forces, which strive to defame and diminish His glory. Even the opposers of Christ at this time, relied on Hebrew prophecy to learn of the location of His birth place.
Matthew 2:16-18
Necessary Martyrdom and Reward of Innocent Souls
Per this passage, one might ask why Yahweh permitted innocent children to be killed at Herod’s command, in his attempt to kill the Christ Child? The purpose for this event is fulfillment of prophecy. The comfort in the loss of these babes is that they were innocent souls who immediately inherited eternal life with THE LORD.
Matthew 2:23
Jesus of Nazareth
Jesus Christ is prophetically recognized as a Nazarene because He was a citizen of Nazareth. However, He was a born native citizen of Bethlehem, Israel, the ancient Canaanite city of Salem, Jebu, later re-named Bethlehem, Israel.
Matthew 3:1-4, 6
John the Baptist
Apostle Matthew notes three major things about John the Baptist.
1. His divine and prophetic appointment as a servant of Yahweh.
2. His modest living and fame.
3. His clear and simple instruction on how to obtain holistic regeneration.
• To REPENT is to change one’s mode of thinking and living per divine influence and instruction. [Jn 4:23, 24; 8:31, 32; Mt 11:28-30]
• Acknowledge one’s status as a sinner and confess their sins to GOD. [I Jn 1:8-10; Rm 3:23]
• Be publicly baptized with water to openly announce one’s reconciliation to Yahweh through Christ.
Another notable element of John the Baptist was his bold proclamation of the destruction of leadership that is filled with hypocrisy and self-righteousness. Regardless of one’s religious affiliations, no one stands in favor with GOD until they are reconciled to HIM through Jesus Christ. [Jn 3:19, 36]
Matthew 3:11-17
Christ the Mighty Teacher
Only Jesus Christ can endow one with divine power, love and truth. No one else can do this. He also practiced and taught proper protocol of leadership. He taught that effective teaching invokes manifestation of divine demonstrations. Yahweh and the Holy Ghost gave notable proof of Who Jesus Christ was throughout His entire earthly ministry. They continue to do so today whenever His testimony and teachings are proclaimed effectively. [I Cor 2:1-4]
Matthew 4:1-11
The Challenge of Evil
It is the Holy Ghost Who oversees the challenges that each child of GOD experiences with evil. In all these encounters, it is their wholehearted devotion and sonship to Yahweh that satanic forces challenge. When sons of GOD respond as they ought, all such challenges prove who they are in relation to THE DIVINE. As he did in Eden, Lucifer attempts to misuse Yahweh’s instruction to trick HIS children into disobedience. Being the subtle creature that he is, Lucifer strives to invoke doubt in the minds of the righteous regarding their sonship to THE LORD. He also uses this tactic to usurp worship for himself. Lucifer only presents his challenges when the Elect seem most vulnerable to his seductions.
In so doing, he only comes when they are….
1. truly hungry for something
2. in a particularly sensitive space where they may question Yahweh’s faithfulness
3. beholding temporal disposition from lofty places of the world, at the price of satanic worship [Gen 3:15; Job 1:6; 2:6; Mt 6:24; I Jn 2:15-17]
Obedience to GOD causes satanic forces to flee from HIS sons, after they fail to seduce them into sin. [Lam 3:22, 23; Jer 9:24; 29:11; Jam 4:7; Mt 7:13, 14; Rm 8:28; I Cor 10:13; Gal 6:9; I Pet 4:19; Pro 14:12]
Matthew 4:12-25
The Most Unlikely Message for the Most Unlikely Audience
Jesus Christ began His public ministry in Gentile provinces, namely Galilee, where He eventually ascended to Yahweh in the heavens. [Acts 1:1-10] It is true that He picked up where John the Baptist left off, enhancing John’s message of repentance, carrying it all the way to Calvary. Christ held revival services in Gentile lands and completed His mission in regions where it seemed unlikely He would be received. He engaged with people of marginalized communities, who were considered outcasts, freaks, unwelcomed and unwanted. Christ continues to serve and is still well received by people of marginalized communities.

[I Jn 4:15-17; Jn 14:12; 15:7, 8] By Yahweh’s Word and Spirit, born-again believers are able to create PEACE where there is none, which is why their presence, speaking, and works are vital in the communities Yahweh appoints them to be present in. [Mt 5:13-16, 19] Although divine PEACE is offered to all mortals, it will only be received by those who choose to be reconciled to Yahweh through Jesus Christ.
