Letter of Apostle Matthew – The Gospel
An Intimate Review
Pt 15
By Lawrence DeMetrius

Matthew 11:28-30
The Universal Call

The universal call to salvation is made to all mortals. Those who COME to Jesus Christ will be relieved of their LABOR and heavy LADEN of sin. He also guarantees them REST.

*come Gk #1205 deute (dyoo-tey) it is to say “Come hither!” …NOT elsewhere

*labor Gk #2872 kopiao (kop-ee-ah-o) it means to feel fatigue, work hard, toil and be wearied

*rest Gk #373 anapauo (an-ap-ow-o) it means to repose, be exempt, remain, refresh or take ease

Christ not only offers REST from being heavy LADEN of sin, but from vain religiosities, which all mortals in some form or fashion have. Those who COME to Him are admonished to take upon themselves His EASY YOKE of Mastership, whereby they can begin to LEARN or receive insight from Him. In so doing, He becomes the teacher Who is MEEK and LOWLY in HEART and genuinely cares for their soul.

The YOKE of Christ’s mastership is EASY in comparison to that of Lucifer’s. The BURDEN that Christ places upon His students is the insight He imparts unto them. Those who fail to COME to and EMPLOY Christ as their Master Teacher forfeit the liberating truth He offers. [Jn 8:31, 32, 36]

*easy Gk #5543 chrestos (krase-tos) it means to be employed and useful in manner and morals

Matthew 12:1, 2, 10, 14, 24
Prying Eyes of Pretenders

Religious hypocrites look for actions of just persons, whereby they may be able to discredit them as they did Jesus Christ. [Mt 12:1, 2, 14] Even the kindest gesture can be miscued as a devilish act. [Mt 12:10, 24] Expounding upon His authority over the Sabbath Day, Christ referred to just persons who were accused of disobeying religious regulations. He expressed that religiosity does not in any way supersede the expressions of benevolence, compassion and mercy. [Mt 12:3-8; Jn 13:34; Gal 6:1-3; I Jn 3:14-18; Jam 2] He referred to the incident of King David and his company eating shew bread upon entering a Temple of Yahweh. By healing the withered hand of a parishioner of the synagogue, Christ expressed that it is always acceptable to DO WELL, even when it appears to violate rules of religiosity.

*well Gk # 2573 kalos (kal-oce) it means …

1. in a satisfactory, proper or excellent manner

2. prosperously, with good reason and considerable degree

3. thoroughly, definitely and with certainty

Per Christ, the Elect of GOD need no fanfare or loud recognition of men for their character and service. As were Christ’s, their services are often rendered to outcasts and members of marginalized communities. [Mt 12:15-21] Apostle Matthew also notes that THE LORD endowed Christ as a mortal, with limitless measure of the Holy Ghost. [Mt 12:18; Isa 42:1; St Jn 3:34; Lk 4:18, 19] Yahweh expresses HIMSELF through HIS sons. HIS manifestable glory accompanies them as they serve souls in HIS behalf. Yahweh endows them with HIS glory, support, essence and assurance. Their ability to DO WELL toward self and others derives from HIS power active within them. [Isa 54:17]

Matthew 12:22-35
A Kingdom Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand

In this passage, Jesus Christ provides healing from demonic possession as religious hypocrites look on, attributing His ability to Lucifer. [Mt 12:24] Christ mentioned to them that if their own children were casting out devils by divine power, how then could He do so by the power of Beelzebub. Per Apostle Paul’s address of the seven sons of Sceva, there were children of Hebrew priests who did practice demonic exorcisms. [Acts 19:13-17; Mt 12:27] The accusers of Christ learn that their accusation is an unforgivable offense against the only authority on earth, by which deliverance from demonic beings can be accomplished, which is the Holy Ghost. [Mt 12:28-32]

*blasphemy Gk #988 blashphemia (blas-fay-me-ah) it is vilification, especially against the Holy Ghost

o vilify is to defame and use abusive language about or of

o defame is to libel, slander and attack the reputation of

The Elect of GOD are to call a thing as it is per its innate nature after properly discerning it. [Mt 12:33] Per Christ, only GOOD people speak GOOD things from the GOOD treasures of their hearts. However, EVIL people speak EVIL things from the EVIL treasures of their hearts. All parties can only speak from the true nature of their hearts. [Mt 12:34; Tit 1:15, 16] Christ reiterates that all mortals invoke upon themselves justification or condemnation, by the words they speak from the treasures of their hearts. [Mt 12:35; Pro 18:21] This is especially so regarding words spoken about the Holy Ghost and His works. Everything the Holy Ghost was to Jesus Christ He is to His brethren. Thus, when religious hypocrites accuse them of operating by satanic powers, when in fact their works are empowered by the Holy Ghost, they invoke death upon themselves. Christ likens these unfortunate souls to whitewashed houses that are filled with vile spirits. [Mt 12:43-45]

In [Mt 12:38-45], Jesus Christ warns that the only SIGN given to His opposers is His death, burial and resurrection. Therefore, if the testimony of His experience on earth is not sufficient enough to win one’s faith filled devotion to Him, their soul will inherit The Second Death if they transition to immortality in unbelief. [St Jn 3:16-21; 8:12, 23, 24]

Matthew 12:46-50
The True Family of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ clarifies that His true family members are those who are genuinely devoted to the accomplishment of His FATHER’S will. Yahweh wills for every soul HE gives to Christ, to experience spiritual rebirth, perfection and salvation on the Final Day of Judgment. Yahweh also expects for each of them to be honored by Christ before HIM also on the Final Day of Judgement. [Mt 6:10, 24; Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45, 65; Rm 8:29, 30; I Jn 2:15-17]
