Letter of Apostle John – The Gospel
An Intimate Review
Pt 5
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Elohiyms
In [Jn 10:31-39; Ps 82:6] Jesus Christ refers to a text in the Psalms that He likened to a law of the unbelieving Hebrews. He reiterated that such SCRIPTURES, which cannot be broken, refer to prophets by whom Yahweh sent HIS instructions. [II Pet 1:20] In that Christ referred to ancient Hebrew text, let one consider the meaning of the word GOD/S per the ancient Hebrew language.
*gods Heb # 430 elohiym (el-o-heem) it means…
1. gods in the ordinary sense but specifically used in the plural as with regard to Yahweh and HIS household members
2. magistrate is a…
a. civil officer charged with the administration of the law
b. minor judicial officer, as a justice of the peace or the judge of a police court, having jurisdiction to try minor criminal cases, and to conduct preliminary examinations of persons charged with serious crimes
3. superlative is…
a. as an adjective that means….
i. of the highest kind, quality or order
ii. surpassing all else or others
iii. supreme and extreme
b. as a noun is…
i. a superlative person or thing

*scripture Gk #1124 graphe (graf-ay) it is a document such as the Holy Writ, its content and statements

Those who are chosen of Yahweh to embody HIS Word as HIS exclusive servants are heralds, teachers and guides of the highest degree. Per the glory HE bestows upon them, they are indeed divine ELOHIYMS. Proclaiming oneself as such is to some is incredibly offensive without proper understanding. Nevertheless, SONS of GOD must maintain who they are in oneness with THE DIVINE. To the unbelieving Hebrews who sought to kill Christ because of His claim of being ONE with Yahweh He said,
I and My Father are one.
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me?
The Jews answered Him, saying, For a good work we stone Thee not; but for blasphemy; and because Thou, being a man, makest Thyself God.
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
If HE called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripter cannot be broken;
Say ye of Him, Whom the Father sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not.
But if I do, though ye believe not Me, believe the works that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.
[Jn 10:30-38]
Those Who Lack Light Are Expected to Stumble in The Dark
In [Jn 11:9, 10] Jesus Christ teaches that people who are void of divine insight stumble in darkness because of it. This simple principle explains why the spiritually unregenerate do what they do. [Jn 12:35, 36] This also stands true for many carnal minded or immature Christians.
Jesus Christ the Resurrection and Life
In [Jn 10:25-27] Jesus Christ decrees that He is the Resurrection and Life. Those who transition from mortal to immortality as born-again believers, will be resurrected in His righteousness. Thus, they are to consider themselves not subject to death in the truest sense, which is eternal banishment from the delightful presence of Yahweh. All who genuinely believe and verbally confess that Christ is the Son of GOD, and live by His principles, will never experience the true death. [St Jn 3:36; 8:23, 24]
The High Priest Caiaphas Prophecies
In [Jn 11:47-57] Apostle John writes that because of the many miracles Christ performed, Caiaphas the High Priest believed more people would adhere to Him and negate the established PLACE of Priesthood per Judaism. Therefore, he concluded that Christ had to be killed to stop this from happening. So, he and others of his persuasion plotted His crucifixion. However, Christ, His works and crucifixion, were already divinely determined and purposed to glorify Yahweh and HIS kingdom.
*place Gk #5117 topos (to-pos) it is a… [I Jn 2:15-17]
1. spot generally in space, but limited by occupancy
2. figurative of condition and opportunity
3. specifically, a scabbard, which is a sheath for a sword or the like and likely denotes a given rank or place of authority within a kingdom
The Anointing at Bethany
In [Jn 12:1-8; Mt 26:6; Mk 14:3; Lk 7:36, 40] Apostle John notes that Simon the leper was also a Pharisee, whose house was in Bethany. It is here where they prepared the Passover Dinner for Jesus Christ and His disciples. The woman who poured the expensive ointment on the feet of Christ is Mary, the sister of Lazarus who Christ raised from the dead. There were many who attended the feast, including members of the Pharisee Party. Judas Iscariot is the one who disapproved of the ointment not being used for alms to the poor.
The Work of Devils
In [Jn 12:9-11] Apostle John notes how devils do everything they can to stop or hinder the Ministry of Divine Iconoclasm. This includes attempts to kill those who effectively administer the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and those who have benefited from their service. This passage discloses that not only did the Pharisees plot the demise of Christ but also His dear friend Lazarus, because he was the product of a great miracle that was generating many disciples unto Christ. When one’s ministry is effective, they can expect extreme reactions from satanic forces up to and including assault and death.
Jesus Christ Believed on by Gentiles
In [Jn 12:20-22] it is noted that in the most ancient of times, there were Gentiles who were worshippers of Yahweh. Later in history, some adopted Judaism when it became a religious practice. As a result of Christ’s earthly ministry, countless Gentiles became His devoted disciples. This passage clearly notes that Greeks came to worship at the Feast of The Passover. Their belief in Christ and desire to be personally acquainted with Him, was evident per their request to see Him and Lazarus whom He raised from the dead.
The Voice Comes Again
In [Jn 12:23-30] Yahweh openly responds to Christ in prayer. It was the second major account of THE LORD doing this. The first account was at The Mountain of Transfiguration, which three of Christ’s disciples witnessed. There is also the experience of John the Baptist when He baptized Christ and the moment just before Christ yielded up His spirit at Calvary.
Feet Washing
In [Jn 13:1-17, 34, 35] Apostle John notes the customary practice of one washing their feet before entering a person’s home. Given the dirt, mud, and gravel acquired during travel, one’s feet were likely the dirtiest part of their body the majority of the time. This gives credence to the idea that one washing another’s feet was an ultimate act of servitude, which Christ exemplified to His disciples.
He performed this act the moment He realized the hour of His departure was at hand. This also exemplifies one’s attitude and urgency regarding their divine purpose and ministry. Christ taught and expected His brethren to love one another the same way He loved them. [Jn 13:1, 34] The expression of their love toward one another is proof of who they were in relation to Yahweh and Christ. Disciples of Christ must be cognizant that genuine expression of love, humility and servitude, is in itself a testimony of Yahweh’s love towards all nations.
Judas Iscariot’s Betrayal
In [Jn 13:18-30] Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Christ actually displayed the relevance of divine prophecy and dominion that Yahweh imparted into the hands of Jesus Christ. It is duly noted per ancient scriptures, that this betrayal would happen in the way it did. However, what is also noted is that Lucifer did not possess Judas Iscariot until he received the sop Christ served to him at their Table of Fellowship. This gives credence to the idea that devils, mortal and immortal, have no ability to act until they are permitted to by divine authority. This is also exemplified in the experience of Job. [Jb 1:6; 2:6]
Jesus Christ Speaks to Yahweh Worshipers
In [Jn 14:1-4] Christ addresses genuine worshipers of Yahweh and admonishes them to believe in Him as they do in Yahweh, THE FATHER. While Christ thought it no robbery to make Himself equal to THE LORD, because is HIS Son, Christ never promoted Himself as being Yahweh, HIMSELF. He was always careful to present Yahweh as His FATHER, and Himself as Yahweh’s Son. Christ advised His brethren that in Yahweh’s HOUSE are many MANSIONS. At the appointed time He will RECEIVE each of His brethren unto Himself, then eternally settle them into the PLACE that He has prepared for them in His FATHER’S HOUSE.
*house Gk #3614 oikia (oy-kee-ah) it is a residence, an abode and primarily a domestic family
*mansions Gk #3438 mone (mon-ay) it is a staying, act of residing and a residence or abode
*place Gk #5117 topos (top-os) it is a spot but limited by occupancy, a condition and opportunity and a scabbard, which is a sheath for a sword
*receive Gk #3880 paralambano (par-al-am-ban-o) it means to…
1. receive near
2. associate with oneself in any familiar or intimate act or relation
3. assume an office
4. learn [Mt 11:28-30; Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45]
There is no unused SPACE in Yahweh’s HOUSE, as every area is prepared for the occupancy of each of HIS household members.
Jesus Christ the Way to Yahweh
In [Jn 14:5-7] Christ explains that only He can lead souls to Yahweh. He insists that only He is the divine WAY, TRUTH, and LIFE. Per His declaration there is no other appointed to this seat or authority. He also declares that only those who are genuinely enlightened by Yahweh, will accept Him as the scriptures have said. It is the FATHER’S will that He thoroughly prepare each one of them in their eternal glory before HIM and that not one be lost. [II Tim 2:24-26; Mt 16:13-17, 20; Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45, 65]
*way Gk #3598 hodos (hod-os) it is a road, route, act or distance of progress, mode and means
*truth Gk #225 aletheia (al-ay-thi-a) it is truth meaning reality
*life Gk #2222 zoe (dzo-ay) it is life, meaning the animate existence of one’s mortal and immortal lifetime
In [Jn 14:8-14] Christ teaches that believing in Him is believing in His FATHER. Apostle John writes that Christ is tolerant enough to present the option of believing in Him, being based on the works that Yahweh performs through Him. In this passage Christ gives promises to those who genuinely believe in Him as they do Yahweh. First, they will do the works that He does. Second, they will do GREATER works than He did because of His completed work at Calvary and ascension back to His FATHER.
Third, He will do what they ask of Yahweh in His Name, so that Yahweh will be GLORIFIED within Him. As Apostle John states later, they are become as Christ in this world. [I Jn 4:17]
*greater Gk #3187 meizon (mide-zone) it means larger literally, figuratively, and specifically in age, which is…
1. the length of time during which a being or thing has existed
2. length of life or existence to the time spoken of or referred to
3. a period of human life, measured by years from birth, usually marked by a certain stage or degree of mental or physical development and involving legal responsibility and capacity
4. the particular period of life at which a person becomes naturally or conventionally qualified or disqualified for anything
5. one of the periods or stages of human life
6. advanced years or old age
7. a particular period of history, as distinguished from others
8. a historical epoch
9. the period of history contemporary with the span of an individual's life
10. a generation or a series of generations
11. a great length of time
12. the average life expectancy of an individual or of the individuals of a class or species
The definition of the word GREATER, gives credence to the idea a LARGER quantity of divine works performed by Yahweh through the Church, from its conception to its maturity throughout the remaining AGES or GENERATIONS. This would certainly be a powerful means of generating great GLORY to THE LORD. [Mt 5:14-16, 19] In fact, this is the reason why Christ promises to do what His brethren asks of their ABBA, FATHER in His Name. [Jn 14:12; 16:23-28; 17:21; I Jn 5:15, 16]
