This passage has to do with one either nurturing or disregarding their spiritual disposition before Yahweh. Christ has come to deliver all mortals from the influence of idolatry, sorcery and witchcraft. Prioritization of anything above Yahweh is a form of idolatry, which is direct violation of the primary command of Yahweh and duty of all mortals. THE LORD said,
Thou shalt have no other gods before ME.
[Exo 20:3]
King Solomon writes,
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear GOD, and keep HIS commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.
[Eccl 12:13]
Although there is constant challenge, the strength of Jesus Christ is always available to empower born-again believers to fulfill their divine duty unto Yahweh. [Jn 15:5; II Cor 12:9; I Jn 5:20] Those who NEGLECT to properly worship THE LORD forfeit the path of life, fullness of joy and eternal pleasures HE has for them in HIS delightful presence. King David writes,
THOU wilt shew me the path of life: in THY presence is fulness of joy; at THY right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
[Ps 16:11]
The Lord Jesus said,
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[St Jn 3:19, 20]
One must consider for themselves whether or not they are in compliance with THE LORD. Prophet Amos writes,
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
[Amos 3:3]
Prophet Isaiah writes,
Come now, and let us reason together, saith THE LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of THE LORD hath spoken it.
[Isa 1:18-20]
Moses writes,
God is not a man, that HE should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath HE said, and shall HE not do it? Or hath HE spoken, and shall HE not make it good?
[Num 23:19]
If one is not compliant with Yahweh, they are admonished to become so before their opportunity to do so is lost. Those who desire the favor and benefit of Yahweh’s delightful presence, learn to discipline themselves so they may remain compliant with HIM. Jesus Christ said,
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the FATHER in spirit and in truth: for the FATHER seeketh such to worship HIM.
GOD is a Spirit; and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.
[St Jn 4:23, 24]
In [II Cor 10:7-18] Apostle Paul notes the importance of Christians properly reverencing themselves and the authority divinely imparted unto them.
It is their own responsibility to rightly assess who they are in Christ, so they may be properly edified as members of His Church and maintain glory unto Yahweh. Christ said,
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your FATHER which is in heaven.
Whoseover therefore shall break on of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[Mt 5:14-16, 19]
Apostle Paul writes,
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.
[Rm 10:4]
True messengers of Christ are to know who they are in Him and stay true to their appointed assignments. The Lord Jesus said,
And HE that sent Me is with Me; the FATHER hath not left Me alone: for I do always those things that please HIM.
If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. <because you are compliant to Yahweh>
Herein is My FATHER glorified, that ye bear much fruit: so shall ye be My disciples.
If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My FATHER’S commandments, and abide in HIS love.
[Jn 8:29; 15:6-8, 10]
