Letter of Apostle Paul – II Corinthians
An Intimate Review
Pt 2
By Lawrence DeMetrius

The Character of True Christian Teachers

In [II Cor 4:1; Lam 3:22, 23] Apostle Paul expresses that it is Yahweh’s MERCY that enables one to effectively MINISTER HIS Word without FAINTING.

*ministry Gk #1248 diakonia (dee-ak-on-ee-ah) it is…
• attendance as a servant
• eleemosynary aid which is…
o of or relating to alms, charity, charitable donations and being charitable
o derives from, depends upon and is supported by charity
• the official service of a Christian teacher or deacon

*mercy Gk #1653 eleeo (el-eh-eh-o) it means to compassionate, which is to have, show and grant compassion, specifically by divine grace in emergencies in word or deed

*faint Gk #1573 ekkakeo (ek-kak-eh-o) it is to be bad, weak, weary or fail in heart

In [II Cor 4:2] Apostle Paul explains that not every person handles the WORD of GOD properly. Those who do, do so because they know that HE is cognizant of their every move. In fact, when one does anything in the name of another, they do it in honor of that person’s authority and purpose. Apostle Paul gives four characteristics of those who handle Yahweh’s WORD rightly.

1. They have RENOUNCED the HIDDEN things of DISHONESTY.

*renounced Gk #550 apeipomen (ap-i-pom-ane) it means to disown or say off for oneself

*hidden Gk #2927 kruptos (kroop-tos) it means to be concealed, private and secret
*dishonesty Gk #152 aischune (ahee-skoo-nay) it is shame and disgrace

True Christian teachers openly and verbally disown SHAMEFUL and DISGRAGEFUL things that are SECRETLY upheld by some who present themselves in forms of godliness but deny the power thereof. [II Tim 3:1-5]

2. They do not WALK in CRAFTINESS.

*walking Gk #4043 peripateo (per-ee-pat-eh-o) it means to…
• tread all around
• walk at large especially as proof of one’s ability
• live, deport oneself and follow as a companion, devotee or student

*craftiness Gk #3834 panourgia (pan-oorg-ee-ah) it is…
• adroitness, which is being…
o expert or nimble in the use of the hands or body
o cleverly skillful, resourceful and ingenious
• trickery, which is…
o the use or practice of stratagems to deceive
o artifice and deception used to deceive
• sophistry, which is a…
o false argument
o subtle, superficially plausible and fallacious method of reasoning
o specious argument for displaying ingenuity in reasoning or for deception
• fallacy, which is…
o a deceptive, misleading and false notion or belief
o a misleading and unsound argument
o a deceptive, misleading and false nature
o an erroneousness reasoning that renders logically unsound arguments

This is exactly what Lucifer and his subjects have done since the Fall in Eden. They come in the form of friends, when in fact they are masters at crafting lies and sworn enemies of all mortals. [Gen 3:1-6; Jn 10:10a]

3. They do not HANDLE the WORD OF GOD DECEITFULLY.

*handle(ing)/deceitfully Gk #1389 doloo (dol-o-o) it means to ensnare and adulterate
• ensnare is to capture in or involve as in a snare, which is…
o a trap or device
o anything that entraps and entangles unawares
• adulterate is to…
o debase or make impure by adding inferior materials or elements to
o use cheaper or less desirable goods in the production of any professedly genuine article

*word Gk #3056 logos (log-os) it is…
• something said including the thought
• a topic or subject of discourse
• reasoning of the mental faculty
• a motive or computation which is a making sense of a thing
• the Divine Expression such as Christ the Word

The most subtle of anti-Christ teachers are disguised as angels or messengers of Yahweh. As did their father Lucifer, they usurp divine words to DECEITFULLY push erroneous doctrines. [Mt 7:15-23; 24:5, 11, 24; II Cor 11:3, 4, 13-15; II Thes 2:3; I Jn 2:18-29; 4:1-6]

4. By MANIFESTATION of the TRUTH, they COMMEND themselves to every person’s CONSCIENCE in Yahweh’s SIGHT. [Mt 28:19]

*manifestation Gk #5321 phanerosis (fan-er-o-sis) it is exhibition, expression and bestowment
• exhibit is to…
o offer and expose to view
o present for inspection
o display and place on show
o explain, manifest or make manifest, which is to…
 make clear and evident to the eye and understanding
 plainly show, prove and put beyond doubt and question
o express is to…
o clearly show and reveal
o set forth one’s opinions and feelings in speech and writing
o bestow is to…
o give, confer and present as a gift
o apply and put to some use

This is what true messengers of Yahweh do with HIS WORD or LOGOS.

*truth Gk #225 aletheia (al-ay-thi-a) it is…
• the true and actual state of a matter
• conformity with fact and reality
• a verified or indisputable fact, proposition and principle
• the state or character of being true
• actuality or actual existence
• honesty, integrity and truthfulness

*commending Gk #4921 sunistao (soon-is-tah-o) it means to…
• be strengthened, set together and favorably introduce
• exhibit, stand near and constitute

*conscience Gk #4893 suneidesis (soon-i-day-sis) it is…
• co-perception
o co as a prefix is a Latin word that means joint, jointly and together
o perception is…
o the act and faculty of perceiving
o apprehending by means of the senses or the mind
o cognizance, understanding and insight
o intuition, discernment and perception
o immediate recognition and appreciation of moral and psychological qualities
o the result of perceiving that is distinguished from the act of perceiving

• moral consciousness
• moral is of, relating to or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong
• consciousness is…
o the state of being conscious
o awareness of one's own existence, sensations, thoughts and surroundings
o thoughts and feelings collectively
o full activity of the mind and senses
o awareness of something for what it is
o internal knowledge, concern, interest and acute awareness
o the mental activity of which a person is aware, as contrasted with unconscious mental processes

Understanding the prefix CO- is key per this discussion, as it gives credence to the idea of being in ONENESS with THE HOLY GODHEAD, which is pre-requisite for divine worship. [Eccl 12:12, 13; St Jn 4:23, 24] It is also necessary to become the excellence Yahweh has created mortals to be. [Gen 1:26a, 27; Isa 1:18-20; Amos 3:3; Jn 14:6; 14:23, 24; II Cor 5:17-21; 12:9; Rev 3:8] True teachers of THE LORD stamp themselves within the MORAL CONSCIOUSNESS of their audience with their godly lifestyle and righteous teaching in the SIGHT of Yahweh. [Mt 5:14-16, 19]

*sight Gk #1799 enopion (en-o-pee-on) it means before, in the face of and in the presence of

This is exactly what Christ Jesus commissions His earthly brethren to do as they administer His Gospel throughout the earth. [Mt 28:19, 20]
