Letter of Apostle Paul – Galatians
An Intimate Review
Pt 5
By Lawrence DeMetrius
In [Gal 5:24, 25] Apostle Paul writes that only mortals who are redeemed by Yahweh through Christ are privileged to WALK in the FRUIT of the Holy Ghost and thereby be empowered to CRUCIFY the AFFECTIONS and LUSTS of their FLESH. He admonishes these beneficiaries writing,
They that are Christ’s have CRUCIFIED the FLESH with the AFFECTIONS and LUSTS.
[Gal 5:24; Jn 6:37, 44, 45, 65; 17:6-10, 20, 24]

The PASSION of the FLESH or CARNAL NATURE is set to worship Lucifer who influenced it. [Rm 8:5-7] Those who permit their FLESH nature to prevail at fulfilling its LUSTS and AFFECTIONS will in turn inherit true death, which is eternal separation from the delightful presence of Yahweh. [Rm 6:23; 7:25; Jam 1:13-15; St Jn 3:36] The only means by which one can CRUCIFY the FLESH is the strength of Christ the Word and by WALKING in and utilizing the FRUIT of the Holy Ghost. [II Cor 12:9; II Cor 4:3; 10:4, 5; Eph 6:10] Although all souls belong to Yahweh only those who are born-again of Christ and the Holy Ghost are considered righteous in HIS perspective and therefore are liberated from the dictates of their FLESH nature. [Mt 26:41; Rm 7:25; Rev 3:8, 10]
In fact, anyone who is not a recipient of the Holy Ghost does not belong to Jesus Christ as a spiritual sibling. [Rm 8:9-17; Jn 8:37-39; I Cor 12:3, 13] Apostle Paul admonishes the Elect regarding the Holy Ghost writing,
If we LIVE in the Spirit, let us also WALK in the Spirit.
[Gal 5:25]
*live Gk #2198 zao (dzah-o) it means to live which is to…
• have life as an organism and be alive
• be capable of vital functions and continue to have life
• remain alive and continue in existence, operation and memory

• feed and provide for oneself
• to dwell and pass life in a specified manner
Per the teaching of Jesus Christ, the manner of life and living He secured for Yahweh’s flock is one of abundance. He said,
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
[Jn 10:10b]
*walk Gk #4748 stoicheo (stoy-kheh-o) it is to…
• march and keep in step in a military line
• conform to virtue and piety
• walk in an orderly fashion
As born-again believers WALK in the SPIRIT, Apostle Paul admonishes them further by writing,
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
[Gal 5:26]
*vain glory Gk#2755 kenodoxos (ken-od-ox-os) it is to be…
• vainly glorifying
• self-conceited
o vain is being excessively proud of or concerned about one's own appearance, qualities and achievements

• having a feeling of resentment against someone because of their rivalry, success or advantages
• characterized by or proceeds from suspicious fears and envious resentment
• inclined to and troubled by suspicion or fear of rivalry and unfaithfulness
VAIN GLORY is an element of the FLESH or CARNAL NATURE that prevents one from reverently adhering to divine perspective. [Rm 8:5-7] VAIN GLORY is self-worship at its highest degree and renders the heart void of LOVE for Yahweh. [I Jn 2:15-17]
