In [Eph 4:12, 14, 16] Apostle Paul gives the primary reasons why Christ gave these GIFTS to the Church.
1. For the PERFECTING of the SAINTS.

3. For the EDIFYING of the BODY of Christ.

2. Comes to a PERFECT man.

3. COMES unto the MEASURE of the STATURE of the FULLNESS of Christ.

Per [Eph 4:14] when the Church reaches full SPIRITUAL MATURITY in the Truth of Christ, they will no longer be CHILDREN TOSSED to and fro and CARRIED ABOUT by every WIND of DOCTRINE, that comes by the SLEIGHT, CUNNING and CRAFTINESS of those waiting to DECEIVE.

CRAFTINESS has much to do with use of words. CRAFTY SPEAKING is what Lucifer used to engage conversation with Eve. [Gen 3:1-6] Lucifer and his subjects will continue to use such stratagem until their final demise. This is why the Elect must guard their minds from erroneous idealisms.
To avoid such deception they are admonished to compare philosophies to that of Christ’s. [I Jn 4:1-3; 2:18-29] The EDIFICATION of the Church comes directly from THE HOLY GODHEAD through the GIFTS provisioned by Jesus Christ.
