Letter of Apostle Paul – Philippians
An Intimate Review
Pt 4
By Lawrence DeMetrius
In [Phil 3:12b, 13a; 19; Rm 3:23] Apostle Paul acknowledged that he like all living mortals had not yet fully reached the consummation of character Yahweh was conforming him to. However, because he was wholeheartedly committed to remaining faithful to Yahweh through Christ, he boldly proclaimed that he would continue to FOLLOW after Christ that he might resolutely APPREHEND the glory Christ APPREHENDED.

Simply put, sons of God are to obey the clear and understandable instructions imparted to them by Yahweh through HIS prophets and scribes from Enoch to Jesus Christ and His Original Apostles. [Eno 37; Isa 1:18-20; Mt 5:19; II Tim 2:15, 24-26; 3:16-18] In [Phil 3:17] Apostle Paul refers to himself and other true Christian Apostles as ENSAMPLES to be MARKED and FOLLOWED.

In [Phil 3:18, 19] Apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of MARKING true disciples of Christ because there are false teachers that are also to be MARKED but avoided. These pretenders are enemies to the Cross of Jesus Christ, whose END is DESTRUCTION, whose GOD is their BELLY, whose GLORY is their SHAME, and who MIND EARTHLY things.

• one’s abdomen, cavity and heart, which is the center and total of one’s personality, especially with reference to intuition, feeling and emotion
• one’s matrix, which is something that constitutes the place or point from which a thing originates, takes form and develops
Here, Apostle Paul is referring to false teachers who worship their own souls and everything that is formed and comes forth from it. Christ teaches about the substance that comes forth from the good and evil treasures of a person’s heart and soul. [Mt 12:35] Again, Apostle Paul writes that the GLORY of false teachers is their SHAME and that they only MIND EARTHLY things.
*glory Gk #1391 doxa (dox-ah) it is glory as very apparent

• of or relating to land as distinct from water

o common, ordinary and unimaginative

o of or relating to the world, universe or earth
False teachers and those who adhere to them only concern themselves with what pertains to ordinary mortal existence on earth. They give little or no regard to spiritual matters or their immortal well-being. In [Phil 3:20] Apostle Paul explains that teachers of divine truth admonish people to anticipate and place more value on that which nurtures spiritual wealth and well-being. He writes that the CONVERSATION of born-again believers is already established in HEAVEN through Christ.
*conversation Gk #4175 politeuma (pol-it-yoo-mah) it is a community and citizenship

In [Phil 3:21] Apostle Paul notes that Christ will CHANGE and FASHION the VILE body of born-again believers like unto His Own GLORIOUS body. He will do so according to the WORKING whereby He is able to SUBDUE all things unto Himself.
*change Gk #3345 metaschematizo (met-askh-ay-mat-id-zo) it means to transfigure, disguise and apply by accommodation

This is what Christ does with the VILE BODY of mortals who entrust themselves to Him by faith. [Mt 11:28-30; Heb 7:25] Those who receive insight from Christ and learn to deal with themselves realistically, realize that it is not possible to be considered righteous in Yahweh’s perspective without Him. Thus, they understand that they must abide in Christ and He in them, to live in a manner that is acceptable to Yahweh. [Rm 3:24-26; 8:1-4; 10:1-4; I Cor 1:18, 21,30, 31; II Cor 12:9; I Jn 1:8-10; 2:1, 2; Rev 8:8, 10; Heb 12:1-3]
