Letter of Apostle Paul – I Thessalonians

In [I Thes 5:11; Heb 10:26; Mt 18:20] Apostle Paul gives more guidance to the CHILDREN OF LIGHT and DAY as to personal conduct. They are to practice the following.

1. COMFORT one another. [ I Thes 5:11]

*comfort (1) Gk #3870 parakeleo (par-ak-al-eh-o) it means to call near, invite and invoke by imploration and consolation

• implore is to beseech, entreat, urgently or piteously beg for aid, mercy or pardon
• console is to comfort, give solace, alleviate or lessen grief, sorrow or disappointment

2. EDIFY one another. [I Thes 5:11; Jn 13:34, 35; 20:17; Rev 1:5, 6]

3. KNOW them that LABOUR among them. [I Thes 5:12; Eph 4:7-13]

4. Know those who are OVER them in THE LORD. [I Thes 5:12]

*over Gk #4291 proistemi (pro-is-tay-mee) it means to stand before, preside in rank and practice

There is a system of rank and order within Christian Assemblies that is divinely set.
THE LORD expects born-again believers to properly honor those who HE has set as ordained leaders over them. Biblical history has shown that dishonoring this protocol can invoke unfortunate consequence. [I Cor 12:1-11, 27-31; Rm 12:3-8; Eph 4:7-13; I Pet 5:1-5; Mt 10:41]

5. Know those who ADMONISH them IN THE LORD. [I Thes 5:12; Gal 6:1-3]

6. ESTEEM them very highly in LOVE for their WORK’S sake. [I Thes 5:13]

*love Gk #26 agape (ag-ah-pay) it is divine affection, benevolence and a feast celebrating such love

*work Gk #2041 ergon (er-gon) it is an act and toil as an effort or occupation

7. BE at PEACE among one another. [I Thes 5:13]

*peace (1) Gk #1518 eirenopoios (i-ray-nop-oy-os) it means pacificatory, peaceable and a peacemaker

8. WARN them that are UNRULY. [I Thes 5:14; Gal 6:1-3]

*unruly Gk #813 ataktos (at-ak-tos) it means unarranged and religiously insubordinate

9. COMFORT the FEEBLEMINDED. [I Thes 5:14]

*feebleminded Gk #3642 oligospsuchos (ol-ig-op-soo-khos) it means little-spirited and faint-hearted

10. SUPPORT the WEAK. [I Thes 5:14]

*weak Gk #772 asthenes (as-then-ace) it means without strength, more feeble, impotent or sick

11. BE PATIENT toward all people. [I Thes 5:14]

*patient Gk #3114 makrothumeo (mak-roth-oo-meh-o) it means to be long spirited or forbearing, which is to refrain from, hold back, be patient and self-controlled when subject to annoyance or provocation

There are many kinds of personalities. SONS OF LIGHT are instructed to FORBEAR every one as best they can because of who they are in the world. Christ teaches them to be PERFECT as Yahweh is PERFECT, which can only be done through His strength. [Mt 5:48; Jn 15:5; II Cor 12:9; Phil 4:13]

12. RENDER EVIL for EVIL to no person. [I Thes 5:15; Rm 12:17:17, 19-21; Mt 5:44-48]

*evil Gk #2556 kakos (kak-os) it means intrinsically worthless, depraved and injurious

Those who are of an EVIL MINDSET cannot serve in The Ministry of Divine Iconoclasm. They generally end up causing more hurt than good to themselves and others. [Gal 6:7-10]
13. FOLLOW that which is GOOD among Christians and Non-Christians. [I Thes 5:15; Rm 12:18]

14. REJOICE EVERMORE. [I Thes 5:16]

15. PRAY without ceasing for SELF and others. [I Thes 5:17, 25; Mt 26:41; Eph 6:18]

16. Give THANKS in EVERYTHING because it is the WILL of Yahweh in Christ concerning HIS ELECT. [I Thes 5:18; Rm 8:28]

*will (Gk #2307 thelema (thel-ay-mah) it is determination, choice, purpose, decree, volition and inclination

17. QUENCH not the Holy Ghost. [I Thes 5:19]

18. DESPISE not divine PROPHESYINGS. [I Thes 5:20]

19. PROVE all things and HOLD FAST to what is genuinely GOOD. [I Thes 5:21; I Jn 4:1-3; II Jn vs 7-11]

20. ABSTAIN from all APPEARANCE of EVIL. [I Thes 5:22]

• Lucifer and his immortal and mortal subjects

In [I Thes 5:23, 24] Apostle Paul notes that when one chooses to ABSTAIN from the APPEARANCE of EVIL, Yahweh WHOLLY SANCTIFIES and PRESERVES their entire SPIRIT/mind, SOUL/seat of sentiment and physical BODY.
