In this passage, [I Tim 4:6-11] Apostle Paul is personally addressing Pastor Timothy, his son in the FAITH. Although Timothy was young in biological years, he was no NOVICE in the scriptures and had been appointed pastoral leadership. Apostle Paul knew the quality of Timothy’s character and spiritual maturity in Christ. [I Tim 1:12] One in Christian leadership cannot expect for others to follow them as a godly example, when they themselves are not displaying a godly lifestyle. From the most ancient of times, it has always been expected of those in leadership to practice what they preach. [I Tim 4:6; Eccl 10:1; Mt 5:19; I Pet 5:1-4] Anyone who practices a godly life can expect to receive everything they need to enjoy their mortal and immortal lifetimes. Apostle Paul writes,

For bodily exercise is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
For therefore we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, Who is the Savior of all men, especially of those that believe.
These things command and teach.
[I Tim 4:8-11]
Jesus Christ said,

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
[Mt 6:33]

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My Name’s sake shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
[Mt 19:28]
In [I Tim 4:16] Apostle Paul admonishes Pastor Timothy with further instruction, which is applicable to all born-again believers, especially those in leadership writing,

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; CONTINUE in them: for in doing this thou shalt both SAVE thyself, and them that HEAR thee.
[I Tim 4:16; Jn 8:31, 32, 36; 12:45-50; Mt 5:19; Jam 1:21-25; I Jn 2:20-28]
