Letter of Apostle Paul – I Timothy
An Intimate Review
Pt 9
By Lawrence DeMetrius
In [I Tim 6:11] Apostle Paul continues his admonishment to Pastor Timothy in regard to marking erroneous Christian teachings that promote AVARICE. While this certainly is not a well-received message within Christian sects today, those who genuinely seek to lead a GODLY lifestyle are to FLEE from worldly precepts of money-getting and excessive desire for temporal WEALTH. This instruction derives from the teaching of Christ Himself. [Mt 6:19-21, 24, 33] Apostle Paul writes,
But thou, O man of God, FLEE these things; and FOLLOW after RIGHTEOUSNESS, GODLINESS, FAITH, LOVE, PATIENCE, MEEKNESS.

Apostle Paul then charges Timothy to maintain his position within his duty of doing and teaching righteous principles until Christ’s return writing,

Unfortunately, many have and do draw back from divine worship by reason of AVARICE or some other temporal gratification. [St Jn 3:19, 20] This has been the case for many generations beginning with Eve in Eden. [Gen 3:1-6] Christ asks,
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
[Mt 16:26]
In [I Tim 6:17a] Apostle Paul CHARGES Christians who happen to be RICH in this WORLD writing,

Yahweh expects for HIS children who are truly WEALTHY in temporal RICHES of this WORLD to BE GOOD at FUNDING HIS work on earth. In so doing with a CHEERFUL HEART and GODLY lifestyle, they secure their eternal inheritance in Christ. This gives credence to Christ’s TEACHING about those who build on sand or rocky foundation. Those who wholeheartedly adhere to His DOCTRINE are likened to wise souls. [Mt 16:24-27; Dan 12:3, 10] WEALTH, being WEALTHY or desiring to acquire WEALTH is not EVIL. [Eccl 7:11, 12] However, AVARICE, which is excessive desire for it is because it interrupts divine order and worship. [I Tim 6:10; Exo 20:3; Mt 6:24; 6:19-21, 32, 33; Lk 12:15; I Jn 2:15-17; Col 3:1, 2] Finally, in [I Tim 6:20, 21] Apostle Paul CHARGES Timothy and all genuine Christian TEACHERS writing,
O Timothy, KEEP that which is COMMITTED to thy TRUST, avoiding profane and vain BABBLINGS, and OPPOSITIONS of SCIENCE falsely so called:
Which some professing have erred concerning the FAITH. Grace be with thee. Amen.
[I Tim 6:20, 21]
*keep (2) Gk #5442 phulasso (foo-las-so) it means to observe, watch, be on guard, preserve, beware not to avoid and obey

Per these definitions, the very act of entertaining unworthy debate is a wile used by satanic powers to lure the Elect into traps fashioned to lead them into doubt and confusion about what Yahweh has already spoken and confirmed. These snares can be avoided by simply marking and staying away from them. Apostle John writes,
Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed;
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his deed.
[II Jn vs 7-11]
The Lord Jesus said,
I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
…if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.
If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:12, 24a, 31, 32, 36]
