Letter of Apostle Paul – I Timothy
An Intimate Review
Pt 1
By Lawrence DeMetrius

In [I Tim 1:2b] Apostle Paul gives reference to FATHERS and SONS in the Christian Faith. Time of spiritual maturity in Christ is what distinguishes appropriate recognition and entitlements among Christians. This is clearly noted in Apostle John’s letter. [I Jn 2:12-14]

*father Gk #3962 pater (pat-ayr) it is a father and parent literally, figuratively, near or remote

*young men Gk #3495 neaniskos (neh-an-is-kos) it is a youth under 40 years of age

*little children (1) Gk #5040 teknion (tek-nee-on) it is an infant and new Christian convert

*little children (2) Gk #3813 paidon (pahee-dee-on) it is a child, infant, half-grown boy or girl and an immature Christian

Per these definitions…

• FATHERS are born again believers who have experienced 40+ years of spiritual maturity in Christ.
• YOUNG MEN/WOMEN are born again believers who have experienced 8 to 39 years of spiritual development in Christ.
• LITTLE CHILDREN are born-again believers who have experienced up to 7 years of spiritual maturity in Christ.

In the case of the Original Apostles, they had Christ in His mortality as their Master Teacher. Most of them were Hebrews who were already well versed in ancient texts and knew Yahweh to be the only TRUE GOD. However, they lacked full understanding of Who Christ was. They also needed fuller insight regarding themselves as born-again disciples of Jesus Christ. This revelation required fuller understanding of the scriptures from the Holy Ghost. [Lk 24:44, 45]
It also required readiness to endure the persecution they would encounter as pioneers of The Christian Faith. [Jn 16:33] Mortal devils can be granted ministerial credentials and collegian degrees that permit them to be appointed seats of high influence in Christian Communities. However, no such credentials or charisma validates one as a born-again believer. [Mt 7:15-21; Rm 11:29; II Cor 11:3, 4, 13-15] However, the Holy Ghost only accommodates true Christian witnesses. [I Cor 2:4; I Jn 2:18-25] In [I Tim 1:3] Apostle Paul instructs Timothy to CHARGE Christians who to TEACH tainted Christian DOCTRINES, to stop doing so.

*charge Gk #3853 paraggello (par-ang-gel-lo) it means to transmit a message, enjoin, declare, give command and commandment

*teach Gk #2085 heterodidaskaleo (het-er-od-id-as-kal-eh-o) it means to instruct differently

The DOCTRINE of Jesus Christ is simple and uniform. Thus, it became the primary duty of early Christian fathers to make sure this uniformity and simplicity was not disturbed by erroneous Christian doctrines. [II Cor 11:3, 4, 13-15; Gal 1:6-9]

*doctrine Gk #1319 didaskalia (did-as-kal-ee-ah) it is the function of and information given by instruction, learning, teaching and doctrine, which is a particular principle, position or policy taught or advocated, a collective of teachings and a system of teachings relating to a particular subject

In [I Tim 1:4] Apostle Paul writes that divine teachers are not to give HEED to FABLES and endless GENEALOGIES because they MINISTER QUESTIONS, rather than EDIFY divine FAITH.

*heed Gk #4337 prosecho (pros-ekh-o) it is to…
• hold the mind toward and pay attention to
• be cautious about, apply oneself to and adhere to

*fable Gk #3454 muthos (moo-thos) it is a tale, fiction and myth

• tale is a…

o any invented story, idea or concept
o an imaginary or fictitious thing or person

*genealogies Gk #1076 genealogia (ghen-eh-al-og-ee-ah) it is the act of tracing by genealogy, which is…
• a record or account of the ancestry of a person, family or group
• the study of family ancestries and histories
• descent from an original form or progenitor, lineage or ancestry

*minister Gk #3930 parecho (par-ekh-o) it means to hold near, present, afford, exhibit or furnish occasion

*question Gk #2214 zetesis (dzay-tay-sis) it is a searching, dispute or theme of a dispute

*edify Gk #3618 oikodomeo (oy-kod-om-eh-o) it means to be a house-builder, construct and confirm

*faith Gk #4102 pistis (pis-tis) it is…
• persuasion and credence
• moral conviction of a religious truth, the truthfulness of Yahweh or a religious teacher
• reliance upon Christ for salvation and constancy of such profession
• the system of religious truth based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ

While there are many DOCTRINES, only one can effectively EDIFY the mortal mind to properly worship Yahweh and it is that of Jesus Christ. [St Jn 4:23, 24; Rm 10:17] Apostle Peter stated that there is no private interpretation of words inspired by the Holy Ghost through Yahweh’s scribes and prophets, from Enoch to Jesus Christ and His Original Apostles. [II Pet 1:20, 21; Eno 37] In [I Tim 1:5-13] Apostle Paul addresses those who were reconsidering the VAIN JANGLING of Judaism. They wanted to do so even though they had no understanding thereof. He explained that the END of divine LAW or COMMANDMENT is CHARITY out of a PURE HEART, GOOD CONSCIENCE and UNFEIGNED FAITH.

*vain jangling Gk #3150 mataiologia (mat-ah-yol-og-ee-ah) it is babble and random talk

*law Gk #3547 nomodidaskalos (nom-od-id-as-kal-los) it is one who expounds upon the Jewish law such as a Rabbi or a doctor teacher of the law

*end Gk #5056 telos (tel-os) it is…
• the point aimed at and conclusion of an act or state
• termination, purpose and result, be it immediate, ultimate or prophetic

*commandment Gk #3852 paraggelia (par-ang-gel-ee-ah) it is a mandate or charge

*charity Gk #26 agape (ag-ah-pay) it is divine love, affection, benevolence or a feast celebrating such love

*pure Gk #2513 katharos (kath-ar-os) it means clean

*heart Gk #2588 kardia (kar-dee-ah) it is the heart and figurative of thought, feelings, mind and middle
*good Gk #18 agathos (ag-ath-os) it means well, beneficial and good in any sense

*conscience Gk #4893 suneidesis (soon-i-day-sis) it is co-perception, moral consciousness and the conscience

*unfeigned Gk #505 anupokritos (an-oo-pok-ree-tos) it means undissembled, sincere and without hypocrisy

First off, Christ Himself was very careful about what and how He spoke because He knew it meant eternal life for those who believed it. [Jn 15:44-50; II Cor 4:3-7; 10:4, 5] His disciples are admonished to avoid idle speech because they will be held accountable for it. [Mt 12:36] Per King Solomon, the power of life and death is in the tongue. [Pro 18:21] Satanic powers use IDLE SPEECH, RANDOM TALK and BABBLE to destroy weak minded people. Christians are not to give devils room to do such things per their speech. [Eph 4:27, 29] As it is with Christ, so it is with His teachers that what and how they speak EDIFIES and ADMINISTERS divine grace to their audiences. [Isa 50:4; Eccl 10:1; Eph 4:29; Mt 5:14-16, 19; II Tim 2:24-26] The word LAW in this passage is NOMODIDASKALOS (nom-od-id-as-kal-los), which is a RABBI, DOCTERATE and one who EXPOUNDS upon The Mosaic Law. This indicates influence of one having divine insight. Many souls are receptive to these public figures because they believe their insight can help them. However, there are devils who gain access to such seats of influence to seduce souls into destructive paths. They are one of six things Yahweh hates the most. King Solomon coins them HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD. [Pro 6:16-19] In Apostle Paul’s day, such false teachers began to permeate the world, seeking to lead as many Christian converts as possible back into idolatry through vain religiosities, including Judaism. [I Jn 2:18-29; II Jn vs 7-11; 4:1-6; II Cor 11: 3, 4, 13-15] Apostle Paul was extremely transparent about his former devotion to Judaism. He disclosed that as long as he was wholeheartedly devoted to the rituals of Judaism, especially as a chief blasphemer, persecutor and inflictor of hurt to the Body of Christ, he was greatly hailed. However, when he converted to The Christian Faith, per his personal encounter with Christ, he became the target of great persecution from his former religious party. [Acts 9]
