Letter of Apostle James
An Intimate Review
Pt 7
By Lawrence DeMetrius
In [Jam 3:17] Apostle James describes divine WISDOM writing,
But the WISDOM that is from above is first PURE, then PEACEABLE, GENTLE, and easy to be INTREATED, full of MERCY and GOOD FRUITS, without PARTIALITY, and without HYPOCRISY.

*hypocrisy Gk #505 anupokritos (an-oo-pok-ree-tos) it means undissembled and sincere
Apostle James completes his statement about divine WISDOM and those who share it writing,
And the FRUIT of righteousness is sown in PEACE of them that make PEACE.
[Jam 3:18]
Christ confirms this saying,
Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS: for they shall be called the children of GOD.
[Mt 5:9]
*peace Gk #1515 eirene (i-ray-nay) it is peace, prosperity, quietness, rest, one and set at one again

In [Jam 4:1] Apostle James expounds upon the origin of wickedness on earth writing,

In [Jam 4:2-7] it appears that Apostle James is directing this portion of his letter to those who possess and use the EVIL TONGUE OF FIRE in support of wickedness. He writes,
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
[Jam 4:2-3]
Apostle James is admonishing his audience to reverently acknowledge and desire the fulfillment of Yahweh’s will, which mortifies that of the carnal nature. [Mt 6:10, 33; Rm 8:5-7] Christ is the best example of dedicating oneself to the fulfillment of THE LORD’S will. As it was for Him so should it be for His brethren. [Jn 4:34; I Jn 2:22] The best for Yahweh’s Elect is manifested in the fulfillment of HIS will for their lives. [Rm 8:28] In fact, where there is no genuine desire for the fulfillment of Yahweh’s will there is no room to wholeheartedly LOVE HIM. [I Jn 2:15-17] Due to the ongoing WAR between the spirit and carnal nature, learning to be fully SUBJECT to GOD can be challenging. However, it is possible when one sets their mind to do so, in the strength of Jesus Christ. Apostle James writes,
SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God. RESIST the DEVIL, and he will FLEE from you.
[Jam 4:7]
*submit Gk #5293 hupotasso (hoop-ot-as-so) it means to obey and subordinate, which is to place in a lower order and rank, make secondary, subject, be subservient and dependent

*flee Gk #5343 pheugo (fyoo-go) it means to run away, shun, vanish and escape from
The very act of DOING RIGHT causes DEVILS to FLEE from those who practice it. When DEVILS FLEE, so do the consequences of submitting to their enticements. [Mt 4:1-11; Gal 6:7-10] Apostle James writes,
DRAW NIGH to God, and He will DRAW NIGH to you. CLEANSE your HANDS, ye sinners; and PURIFY your HEARTS, ye DOUBLEMINDED.
[Jam 4:8]

Apostle James writes,

[Jam 4:9; Eze 18:31]
*afflict Gk #5003 talaiporeo (tal-ahee-po-reh-o) it means to realize one’s own misery and be wretched, which is…

*heaviness Gk #2726 katepheia (kat-ay-fi-ah) it is sadness and demureness, which is characterized by shyness and modesty, reserved, sober and sedate
Apostle James writes,

The unregenerate are admonished to wisely acknowledge their unfortunate disposition before Yahweh. [Exo 20:3; Eccl 12:13] They are warned to be convicted about the wickedness they willingly practice before THE LORD. Apostle James concludes with a sundry principle that needs no deep interpretation or lengthy translation. He writes,
Therefore, to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
[Jam 4:17]
Thus, one who knows they stand in need of humility and submittance unto Yahweh and fail to acquire it through Christ, condemn themselves to The Second Death. [Pro 1:7; 8:1-21, 30-36; St Jn 3:19, 36; Rev 20:10-15; 21:8]
