Letter of Apostle Peter – I Peter
An Intimate Review
Pt 5
By Lawrence DeMetrius

In [I Pet 2:12] Apostle Peter admonishes the Elect to maintain a HONEST CONVERSATION, which will inspire others to GLORIFY Yahweh for the GOOD WORKS they do. He writes,

Having your CONVERSATION HONEST among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your GOOD WORKS, which they shall behold, GLORIFY GOD in The Day of VISITATION.

There are specific times when certain occurrences will happen per divine intervention. In this statement, Apostle Peter refers to The DAY of VISITATION, which is any time an Elect is present to show forth Yahweh’s GLORY. This can be during their mortal lifetime or on The Final Day of Judgment. [Mt 5:14-16, 19] In [I Pet 2:13-17] Apostle Peter admonishes the Elect of GOD to give proper respect to civil authorities and leadership writing,

SUBMIT yourselves to every ORDINANCE of man for THE LORD’S sake: whether it be to the King, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by HIM for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For this is the will of GOD, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your LIBERTY for a CLOKE of maliciousness, but as the SERVANTS of GOD. Although no moral is to be FEARED as THE LORD, the Elect are to show proper respect to those in authority in their communities. Per Ecclesiastical History, it is certain that some holding high offices orchestrated great persecutions on Christians due to their allegiance to Christ. [I Pet 2:13-17; 3:8-12] Nonetheless, by offering proper respect to official authorities, they generated glory to THE LORD and empowered The Christian Movement. Indeed, Christ did say,

Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.
[Mt 22:21]

It is an embarrassment to the entire Church and Kingdom of GOD when born-again believers conduct themselves in an undignified and disrespectful manner, especially toward rightly established authority. Apostle Peter reiterates that rendering proper respect fulfills Yahweh’s will of putting to silence the ignorance of foolish people. One must keep in mind that HE does rein sovereign over all immortal and mortal powers. Nothing happens without HIS knowledge or goes beyond HIS set boundaries. [Rm 13:1-10] Apostle Peter writes,

Finally, be ye all of one MIND, having COMPASSION one of another, love AS BRETHREN, be PITIFUL, be COURTEOUS:

In no way did Christ or His Apostles encourage their audience to be cultish, spellbound or illogical. They encouraged their audience to research credible resources regarding what they taught, namely the Holy Scriptures. Apostle Peter writes,

Above all things have FERVENT CHARITY among yourselves; for CHARITY shall cover a multitude of sins. Use HOSPITALITY one to another without grudging.
[I Pet 4:8, 9]

Christ taught His disciples to both FEEL and EXPRESS adoration for one another. He and His Original Apostles were real people who were chosen of Yahweh to service other real people dealing with real life issues. They also acknowledged the reality of offending others aware and unawares, as all mortals are prone to this. Thus, the practice of FERVENT CHARITY, especially among Christians, is crucial to effectively combating evil forces. In fact, DIVINE LOVE is the most powerful element of Christian Ministry and spiritual warfare. [Jn 13:34, 35; IITim 2:24-26] King Solomon notes genuine friendship is generated by friendliness. [Pro 18:24] Per Christ, one proves their FRIENDSHIP to Him by obeying His commandments, namely that of expressing genuine LOVE. [Jn 14:14, 21; 15:9-15; Mt 5:44-48; I Jn 5:1-3; 3:14-18; 4:8-21; Gal 6:1-9; Rm 12:9; I Cor 12:31; 13]
