In [II Pet 1:3, 4] Apostle Peter expounds more upon the benefits of multiplied grace and peace generated by reverent acknowledgment of Yahweh and Jesus Christ writing,

According as HIS divine POWER hath given unto us all things that pertain to LIFE and GODLINESS, through the KNOWLEDGE of HIM that hath called us to GLORY and VIRTUE: whereby are GIVEN unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through LUST.

3. emotion, feeling, and sentiment

5. an act of kindness and a love-feast…or fellowship among brethren
6. benevolence, which is desire to do good to other

Christ taught that expression of genuine PHILADELPHIA among His Brethren on earth proves to the world who they are in relation to Himself and Yahweh. [Jn 13:34, 35] Indeed, LOVE is right doing in action per [I Jn 3:14-18]. However, per this discussion Apostle Peter denotes that BROTHERLY LOVE also involves one expressing their feelings towards His Christian brethren. In [II Pet 1:8] Apostle Peter speaks in regard to the spiritual attributes of Christian Brethren writing,

For if these things be in you, and ABOUND, they make you that ye shall neither be BARREN nor UNFRUITFUL in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
[II Pet 1:8]

*abound Gk #4121pleonazo (pleh-on-ad-zo) it means to do, make, be more, increase and super abound

*barren Gk #692 argos (ar-gos) is to be inactive, unemployed, lazy and useless

*unfruitful Gk #175 akarpos (ak-ar-pos) which means barren and without fruit

Thus, per these definitions, it is not charisma, sacred or secular academic accolades, financial status, giving of temporal assets, and certainly not outward displays that makes one productive in the KNOWLEDGE of Christ. It is that which Yahweh’s imparts to them through Christ that enables them to be ABUNDANTLY FRUITFUL unto HIM. In fact, without Christ this is impossible to do. [Jn 15:1-9]

In [II Pet 1:9] Apostle Peter denotes people who renounce THE LORD’S directives after having pledged their devotion to HIM writing,

But he that lacketh these things are BLIND, and cannot SEE afar off, and hath forgotten that he was PURGED from his old sins.
[II Pet 1:9]

*blind Gk #5185 tuphos (toof-los) it is to be mentally and physically blind and opaque which is…

1. washing off
2. ceremonial ablution which is…
a. a cleansing with water or other liquid, especially as a religious ritual
b. the liquid thus used
c. a washing of the hands, body, etc.
3. moral expiation which…
a. is to expiate or atone, make amends and reparation for
b. a means by which atonement or reparation is made

This is what Christ did for the entire world. However, those who do not believe or accept His EXPIATION forfeit the benefits thereof. [Jn 3:19, 20, 36; 8:12, 23, 24] In [II Pet 1:10a] Apostle Peter addresses those who have accepted the divine INVITATION to Christ’s EXPIATION by faith and daily live therein by faith writing,

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your CALLING and ELECTION SURE;
[II Pet 1:10a]

*calling Gk #2821 klesis (klay-sis) invitation

*election Gk #1589 ekloge (ek-log-ay) divine selection

*sure Gk #949 bebaios (beb-ah-yos) stable, firm, steadfast, and of force

In [II Pet 1:10b] credence is given to the idea that those SELECTED to receive divine EXPIATION and have done so must personally validate their CALLING and ELECTION in Christ. They are not to another to do this for them. Apostle Peter writes,

…for if ye do these things, ye shall NEVER FALL:
[II Pet 1:10b]

*fall Gk #4417 ptaio (ptah-yo) it means to trip, err, sin, or fail of salvation…per their devotion to the doctrine of Jesus Christ

In [II Pet 1:11] Apostle Peter addresses the eternal salvation that awaits those who are EXPIATED by Christ,

Per [II Pet 1:12-18], in that Apostle Peter is directly addressing the Christians of his day and preparing them for his transition to immortality, he offered them comfort as an eye witness of Jesus Christ in sharing fond memories of his credentials and those of the other Original Apostles of Christ writing,

For we have not followed CUNNINGLY DEVISED FABLES, when we made known unto you the POWER and COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ, BUT WERE EYEWITNESSES of His MAJESTY. For HE received from GOD THE FATHER honor and glory, when there came such a voice to Him from THE EXCELLENT GLORY, this is MY beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased. vi. a deceptive, misleading, or false notion and belief

This describes the many ways that seem right unto a person but leads to eternal separation from Yahweh, which is the true death. [Pro 14:12; Mt 7:13; St Jn 3:19, 36]

*fables Gk #3454 muthos (moo-thos) it is a tale, fiction, and myth

2. magnificence and mighty power

Apostle Peter continues to admonish his audience heed the words of prophecy given by the Original Apostles of Christ writing,

We have also a more SURE WORD OF PROPHECY; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the DAY STAR arise in your HEARTS:

Per the syntax or order in which these ancient words are written, Apostle Peter is referring to one’s personal ability to invoke Christ the DAY and MORNING STAR to ARISE in their HEARTS meaning their THOUGHTS, EMOTIONS, and INTELLECT. [Jn 14:21; Rev 2:28; 22:16; Mt 5:14-16; II Cor 4:3-7; 10:4, 5] This is why Christ instructs His Brethren saying,

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your FATHER which is in heaven.
[Mt 5:14-16]

In [II Pet 1:19-21] Apostle Peter expounds upon why the Brethren of Christ should personally seek out the most accurate understanding of words provisioned by Yahweh through HIS appointed messengers from Enoch to Jesus Christ and His Original Apostles. He admonishes them to do so until the Christ the DAY and MORNING STAR ARISES from within their HEARTS throughout their mortal lifetime. In so doing Apostle Peter writes,

KNOWING this FIRST that no PROPHECY of the SCRIPTURE is of any PRIVATE INTERPRETATION. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of GOD spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
[II Pet 1:20, 21; Dan 10:21; Rev 19:10]

To reiterate, any word inspired by Yahweh and purposed for the children of earth to know, understand, and obey does not require PRIVATE INTERPRETATIONS of others as this insight is digestible for all people on earth.
