Pt 9 – The Weakness of Self, Evil Associations and Sexual Vice continued…
By Lawrence DeMetrius
I was fully aware that certain conduct is not fitting for true Christians, which I was. Nevertheless, I found myself engaging in ungodly conduct. Although I did not lose sight of my relationship with Yahweh through Christ, nor of being saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost endowed, it was becoming apparent that my spiritual oil was running near to empty. This is when I realized why at times many feel that living a life of pure holiness is impossible for sin-flawed mortals. Blessedly, divine insight imparted unto me during my Wilderness Experience would liberate me from demonically influenced guilt, shame, and fear about myself. I learned that satanic powers devise and present counterfeit objects of one’s desires. These cursed things can manifest in the form of beneficial affiliations with people, places, things, social arenas and lifestyles. They are purposed to discourage godly conduct and subtly invoke participation in conduct that is unholy and unhealthy. If these affiliations are not checked and severed from one’s life, they can thereby enslave one to habits and mannerisms that result in various types of addictions. Apostle Paul writes,
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
[I Cor 15:33]
Once satanic powers gain access into the mind of their captives, they sow seeds of faulty reasoning as to why it is acceptable to engage in ungodly conduct as Lucifer did with Eve, which enabled him to continue doing so throughout all generations of her offspring. These seeds of faulty reasoning are formulated as imaginations, high things and thoughts that exalt themselves against divine knowledge.
Apostle Paul writes,
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
[II Cor 10:4, 5]
These lies often appear in likeness of the following excuses…
'It doesn't matter what I do anyway, I can never be what God wants me to be.'
'I'm nothing but a helpless human being and God made me this way! How can He expect me to be holy like Him?'
'It's not my fault I'm weak! If Adam didn't do what he did I wouldn't be the worthless mess I am right now!'
Satanic powers strive to flood the mortal mind with reasons like these until they are embraced as personal truths, when in fact they are blatant lies. I have certainly been entertained with such reasoning throughout my life experience. Along with this tactic they also manipulate human sexuality in effort to further degrade one’s self-perception as being good before Yahweh. Through one’s carnal nature, satanic powers can cunningly persuade mortals to engage in sexual conduct that is contrary to their innate sexual tendencies. They do this by employing devices that are purposed to invoke satanic worship through sexual vice. These devices are inclusive of the following:
• Certain styles of clothing
• Face paint
• Jewelry
• Musical compositions, Literature
• Photography, videos
• Intoxicating substances
• social events and arenas to include known cruising spots, dance clubs, fitness facilities and even spaces purposed for sacred worship
Devices of sexual vice are purposed to create imaginations of enchantment and forbidden fantasy within the mortal mind. They invoke insatiable wantonness that can never be satisfied. Thus, while those held captive thereby strive to fruitlessly satisfy such longings, satanic forces are empowered to inflict various kinds of addictions upon them, which in turn nurtures the sin of self-hatred. As the primary function of all satanic powers is to kill, steal, and destroy the holistic wellbeing of mortals, they do anything possible to bring their captives to the point of willful and literal suicide.
Only then will Lucifer’s work of ascribing eternal death be realized. It is important to note that the kingdom of darkness only maintains full ownership of their captives if they transition to immortality in unrighteousness. Therefore, there is always hope for the unsaved IF they have not been given over to a reprobate mind by Yahweh for committing blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, the ONLY unpardonable sin. The Lord Jesus said,
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
[Mt 12: 31, 32]
Apostle John writes,
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death <blasphemy of the Holy Ghost>: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
[I Jn 5: 16, 17]
According to the teaching of the Original Apostles of Jesus Christ, no living mortal is void of the sin flawed mortal nature. Even the Elect at their best fall short of the glory due to Yahweh because of their sin flawed mortal nature. Apostle Paul writes,
For all have sinned <been enslaved to the power of sin>, and come short <present tense> of the glory of God;
[Rm 3:23]
The process of spiritual perfection taking place in the Elect of God will last the rest of their mortal lifetime and will not be fully completed until they transition to immortality.
Apostle Paul writes,
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded:
And if in anything ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself.
[Phil 3:12-15, 20, 21]
Until then Yahweh has made Christ to be all that the Elect cannot be on their own accord, as long as they abide in Him. The Lord Jesus said,
I am the true Vine, and My Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit HE taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, HE purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me.
I am the Vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
[Jn 15:1-6]
Apostle Paul writes,
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are:
<Why?> That no flesh should glory in HIS presence.
But of HIM <Yahweh> are ye in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
[I Cor 1:26-30]
Per Apostle Paul it is only by the faith OF Christ and unfeigned faith IN Christ that one can be wholly pure and acceptable before Yahweh during their mortal lifetime. He writes,
Being justified freely by HIS <Yahweh’s> grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His Blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that HE <Yahweh> might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
[Rm 3:24-26]
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith OF Jesus Christ, even we have believed IN Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith OF Christ, and not by works of the law: for by the works of the law <of Moses or any other religious regulations> shall no flesh be justified.
I <Paul and all justified believers> am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh <the sin flawed mortal body> I live by the faith OF the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
[Gal 2:16, 20]
The Elect of God are taught by Christ to continually watch and pray BECAUSE of the weakness of their mortal nature. He said,
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the <born again> spirit is willing <to always do what is right>, but the flesh <the sin flawed mortal nature> is <always> weak.
[Mt 26:41]
The Elect of God are to mortify the deeds of their CARNAL NATURE by daily submitting their triune being body, soul, and spirit to HIM through Christ the Word and the Holy Ghost. Apostle Paul writes,
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly <W- H- O- -L- L- Y>: and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is HE that calleth you, WHO also will do it.
[I Thes 5:23, 24]
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your BODIES <body, soul, and spirit> A LIVING SACRIFICE <triune body as a sound whole>, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[Rm 12:1]
Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
…he that is joined with the Lord is one spirit.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
[I Cor 6:13, 15, 17-20]
But I keep under my body, and bring it under subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
[I Cor 9:27]
Never once did any of the Original Apostles of Christ proclaim to be of themselves perfect or sinless beings, even upon their spiritual rebirth. However, they did stress the importance of temperance and self-control in all matters of life including sexual matters. It is always to Yahweh that the Elect are to give thanks to HIM for Jesus Christ, by Whom they are empowered to mortify the deeds of the CARNAL NATURE. Jesus Christ has forewarned that evil entities will challenge all mortals, especially the Elect to some degree on a daily basis. However, He has imparted unto His Brethren authority in His Name to effectively deal with such entities. He said,
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
[Mt 6:34]
I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
[Lk 10:18-20]
