The Book of Ezekiel
An Intimate Review
Pt 2 - A Brief Historical Review of the True Hebrew Nation
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Chapter 15
Chapter 15 tells of the continued curses that would befall the Hebrews because of their idolatry. The curses that would befall Israel of the latter days are also detailed in Moses’s report per Leviticus Chapter 26:14-46 and Deuteronomy Chapter 28:15-68.
Chapter 16
This is an extremely informative chapter about Israel's NATIVITY. Yahweh specifically identifies the nation’s origin, purpose, and covenantal relationship to HIM. It speaks of Israel's rise, fall, and influence on the rest of the world. It tells of Israel's punishment and why it would be so severe. Briefly, Israel's NATIVITY IS OF THE LAND OF CANAAN. Spiritually, the Hebrew nation is likened to an abandoned offspring of the Amorite and Hittite peoples, who were residents of Canaan. Historically, Canaan is one of four sons fathered by Ham. Ham was Noah's youngest son and father of the Nubian nations. [Cush {Ethiopia}, Mizraim {Egypt}, Put or Phut {probably father of most other Nubian nations}, and Canaan {which later became the Hebrew nation of Israel} [Gen 10:1-20; Eze 16:1-6] Yahweh proclaims marriage to Israel. [Eze 16:7-14] Yahweh decrees HIMSELF 'THE GOD OF THE HEBREWS'. [Exo 3:18] THE LORD'S heart was completely broken when HIS wife i.e., Israel left HIM to commit adultery with HIS arch enemy by way of idolatry. The worst of her crimes was the human sacrifice of children to evil spirits being worshipped as gods. [Eze 16:15-23] Israel’s betrayal was so utterly repulsive to Yahweh that HE began to see her as a harlot who paid others, who also found her repulsive, to sexually abuse her. [Eze 16:24-59] Israel’s disobedience influenced that of other nations. However, her repentance would also influence their repentance as well. [Eze 20:41; 22:7-21; Mt 5:14, 19; Eze 16:61-63]
Chapter 17
Yahweh appoints King Nebuchnezzar HIS servant of destruction to Israel. It is important to know that Lucifer is actually Yahweh's servant of destruction to every spirit who chooses to oppose HIM. Again, Enoch lends more details concerning Lucifer as Gadreel the Arch Angel of War and Death. [Eno 69; Pro 16:4; Isa 54:16]
Chapter 18
Again, Yahweh emphasizes that every person will suffer according to their own deeds and not according to the deeds of others. This is why punishment for the sins of one’s forefathers no longer applied after Israel’s Babylonian enslavement. [Eze 14:11-23]
Chapters 19-20
In these chapters, we witness the Babylonian enslavement of UNREPENTANT HEBREW LEADERS. It was the consequence blatant idolatry. [Eze 19:1-31; 22:23-31] Israel thinks to annul their COVENANTAL RELATIONSHIP with THE ALMIGHTY to become as a COMMON GENTILE NATION. However, Yahweh does not allow it. Instead, HE releases Israel to King Nebuchnezzar, re-enforces HIS position over them as their TRUE KING, then deals with them according to their disloyalty. Yahweh ultimately separates the obedient from the disobedient. [Eze 19:32-44; Eph 5:2; Phil 4:18] HE purposes to set them free only to set them up for reproving. Today, Yahweh is calling HIS true worshipers to come again and worship HIM exclusively.
Chapter 21
Exile and enslavement are again foretold in this chapter. [Eze 21:1-7, 24, 25] Yahweh’s servant of destruction i.e., Nebuchnezzar, Lucifer, trans-Atlantic slave traders etc., are given authority to devour all who oppose Yahweh. [Eze 21:8-20, 28, 30-32] Lucifer uses divination and demonic council to plot Israel's complete destruction. [Eze 21:21-23, 29; Jn 10:10a] These sorceries reigned mightily until Christ the Messiah relinquished their destructive power by His death and resurrection. [Heb 2:14-18; I Jn 3:8-10]
Chapters 22-23
Yahweh authorizes Ezekiel to judge Israel but only according to HIS Will and after HIS call to repentance was declared. [Eze 22:2-6; Mt 7:1, 24; I Cor 2:15; Eze 3:18-21; 23:36]
Chapter 24
Child sacrifice made Israel so filthy that Yahweh's initial cleansing did not suffice. [Eze 24:8] The cleansing that would suffice could not occur until after HE severely punished them for this unspeakable crime. [Eze 24:13-27] Child sacrifice was the most heinous of all Israel's idolatrous acts. After sacrificing their children in worship to fallen angels, some Israelites went to temples dedicated to Yahweh to sacrifice offerings unto HIM, which of course were abominable to and rejected by Yahweh. [Eze 23:39] At the appointed time, THE LORD mercilessly punishes Israel and only those who worshipped HIM properly escaped HIS terrible but just judgment.
Chapter 25
There were other nations taken into slavery with Israel because of their own idolatries and advocacy against Israel. These nations included Edom, Gog, Tyre, Ammonites, Moab, Philistia, Sidon, and Egypt. [Eze 25; 28:20-26, 29, 30-32, 35; 36:1-5; 38; 39:1-16]
Chapters 26-32
These chapters tell of the destruction of the city of Tyre. It was destroyed for its gross pride and plan to plunder Israel after her fall. Tyre represents the dwelling place of Lucifer. It is a place of great beauty, power, wealth, and influence. In fact, Tyre was the center of NATIONS considered SUPER POWERS during Ezekiel’s time. [Eze 27:3; Rev 17; 18] It was the city in the midst of the sea whose ruler was fully influenced and possessed by Lucifer himself. He reigned rich and powerful for many years. His city traded with the most powerful nations in the world until its demise. Tyre was the perfect example of evil camouflaged by beauty, wealth, and fame. It is in the high societies of the world that Lucifer strategizes his destructive schemes. In the high-class societies of the world is where his most loyal followers reside and wholeheartedly worship him. This sect of society dictates to the lower classes what should be desired and acquired at any cost, namely the ultimate demise of one’s own soul. [Exo 20:3; Mt 4:8-10; 6:24, 33; 16:26; St Jn 3:19; I Jn 2:15-17] This wicked group controls the majority of the world's media, politics and religions, educational and financial institutions. They use these subsidiaries to promote Lucifer’s agenda of mass destruction on the children of earth. [St Jn 10:10a; Isa 14:12-15; Eph 6:11]
Chapter 33
Many do happily listen to Yahweh's message but few seriously heed it. These are equivalent to church-goers of latter times who enjoy being entertained by various presentations of Christ’s Gospel but fail to entrust themselves thereto. [Eze 33:30-33; Dan 12:10; Jam 1:22-25]
Chapters 34-38
Yahweh is the ULTIMATE SHEPHERD of HIS worshipers. HIS character was manifested most profoundly in the Person of HIS beloved Christ. [Eze 34:11-34; Mal 3:1-4; II Cor 5:19]
Chapter 39
Again, Yahweh promises to restore the true Hebrews to the land of Canaan. HE will empower them to serve HIM faithfully and with gladness of heart forever. [Eze 39:21-25]
Chapters 40-43
The temple of Yahweh is rebuilt in Canaan.

Chapter 45
