The Book of Enoch
An Intimate Review
Pt 2– Ten Points of Interest
By Lawrence DeMetrius

There are Ten Points of Interest that especially caught my attention in this Intimate Review of Enoch 1 - The Ethiopian Book of Enoch.

• Pt 1 is the reinstating of direct prayer to Yahweh by the children of earth. Sometime after sin infected their consciousness, the children of earth relied on certain of Yahweh’s heavenly children to petition HIM on their behalf. [Eno 9] However, direct prayer to Yahweh appears to have been reinstated in the days of Enos the son of Seth. [Gen 4:25, 26]

• Pt 2 is the practice of writing, teaching, studying and obeying principles of righteous living. This was initiated in the days of Enoch the son of Jarred. [Gen 5:18, 20] While Enoch was responsible for writing the first book of divine insight and principles of righteous living, it was his son Methuselah who was responsible for imparting this information first to his own household, who in turn was responsible for imparting it to future generations. [Eno 37:1-5; 83:13; 104:12]

• Pt 3 is that Enoch 1 provides detailed information about the overall creation.

1. It gives insight about the celestial bodies and how they function to create time and seasons that benefit the inhabitants of earth.

2. It gives insight about the 7 heavenly realms above the earth which are occupied by the children of heaven.

3. It gives insight about the 4-level realm of Sheol located beneath the earth, which temporarily houses the spirits of mortals who have officially transitioned to immortality.

• Pt 4 is that it reveals the real reasons why Yahweh sent the great flood, which will be the same reasons for the second and final judgment.
Per Enoch, the second judgment will ultimately manifest as an eternal flame, into which spirits of both heavenly and earthly children will be cast, due to their defiance of Yahweh, HIS directives, and HIS Elect. [Eno 65; 106; Isa 47:9, 13, 14; St Jn 3:19, 20, 36; Exo 32:30-33; Rev 20:11-15]

• Pt 5 is that it speaks of the nature of the children of heaven. It gives insight about their purpose, functions and interaction with the children of earth.

• Pt 6 is that it speaks of the workings of the children of heaven who left or were expelled from their heavenly estates due to their violations of divine order. [Eno 6-16; 21; 68; 69] Their violations were so hurtful to the children of earth that they will never be forgiven of Yahweh for committing them.

• Pt 7 is that it gives information about sin, what it is, how it came to exist in the earth realm and how it became such a powerful influence in the consciousness of the children of earth.

• Pt 8 is that it provides prophecies concerning major world events that were fulfilled, are being fulfilled or will be fulfilled. Enoch foresaw all the major prophetic world events noted in The Old and New Testaments of The Holy Bible.

• Pt 9 is that Enoch 1 is the oldest document that supports the information provisioned in the EPITOME known as The Holy Bible. By definition, an EPITOME is…
1. a person or thing that is typical of or possesses to a high degree the features of a whole class
2. a condensed account, especially of a literary work
3. an abstract which a summary of a text, scientific article, document, or speech

There is no known book on earth that contains everything Yahweh has said and did on behalf of HIS earthly subjects. However, THE LORD has always provided the information HE wanted each generation to know, understand and obey.

• Pt 10 is that Enoch 1 is the first book divinely inspired and purposed to educate mortals about Yahweh and HIS Christ.
It is important to note that Enoch 1 was written at time in which all children of earth spoke one language. It was written in a time when there was no regard to nationality, ethnicity or physical attributes. Moses reiterates this in his account of The Tower of Babel. [Gen 11] Apostle Paul also reiterates this in his speech at Mars Hill in Ephesus. [Acts 17:22-31] Enoch 1 came in a time when it was common knowledge that all people originate from one common blood, which is that of Adam, who lived during the first seven generations of the children of earth. Enoch was born in the 7th generation from Adam. Adam, who was the first mortal son of GOD, lived until Lamech, Enoch’s grandson, was 56 years old. Lineage from Adam to Noah is provided in the 5TH Chapter of Genesis where Moses writes that…
1. Adam was 130 when he begat Seth and lived 930 years. [vs 3, 4]
2. Seth was 105 when he begat Enos and lived 912 years. [vs 6, 8]
3. Enos was 90 when he begat Cainon and lived 907 years. [vs 9, 11]
4. Cainon was 70 when he begat Mahalaleel and lived 910 years. [vs 12, 14]
5. Mahalaleel was 65 when he begat Jared and lived 895 years. [ vs 15, 17]
6. Jared was 162 when he begat Enoch and lived 962 years. [vs 18, 20]
7. Enoch was 65 when he begat Methuselah and was translated to immortality without a mortal death when he was 365 years old. [vs 21, 24]
8. Methuselah was 187 when he begat Lamech and lived 969 years, the longest mortal lifetime recorded. [vs 25, 27]
9. Lamech was 182 when he begat Noah and lived 777 years. [vs 28, 31]
10. Noah was 500 when he begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth and lived 955 years as noted by Moses in [Gen 9:29].

If Enoch 1 – The Ethiopian Book of Enoch is accurate, then it is the first book of its kind. In fact, it was the first book written as use of pen and paper was not purposed for the children of earth. Per Enoch, such divine writings became necessary because evil spirits would later inspire books that would promote principles of unrighteousness. [Gen 1:26, 27, 31a; Ps 139:14; Enoch 37; 14:3; 81; 82; 98:15, 16; 104:10-13] Generations born before and after The Great Flood were advised of Yahweh’s principles per the writings of Enoch.

Although Lucifer has deceived all nations with man-made religions and traditions, the divine Word of Wisdom that commenced with Enoch 1 is completely affirmed by the message and finished work of Jesus Christ and His Original Apostles. [Isa 64:6; Hos 4:6; Mt 15:1-9; Acts 1:8] Therefore, all nations stand before Yahweh without excuse as to why any should perish, other than the choice to do so. [Eccl 12:13; St Jn 3:19, 20; 4:23, 24; Rm 1:18, 19; Jam 4:7-10; I Jn 2:1, 2] Yahweh forewarned through HIS Prophet Daniel that just and wise children diligently seek out, properly comprehend, and apply righteous principles to their daily living. However, wicked and foolish children will mock and despise righteous principles and those who adhere to them. [Dan 12:3, 10; Pro 1:7; 8:17-21, 32-36; Eze 18:4; Mt 5:19; I Cor 1:18, 21, 30, 31; Heb 11:6] Enoch likens the Word of THE LORD to satisfying food to those who have a taste for it. [Eno 42; 80:3; 82; Mt 4:4; 5:6; Jn 6:27, 34]
