The Book of Enoch
An Intimate Review
Pt 4 – Notes for Section Two the Parables
Covering Chapters 37-71
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Chapter 37 is The Introduction to The Parables of Enoch. In it he reveals that he is Yahweh’s first official scribe. The Divine Word of Wisdom began to be written by his hand for the children of earth to study. He reiterates the innate ability given to mortals to understand and communicate Yahweh’s Word of Wisdom. [Pro 24:12; Rm 1:18-20] Jesus Christ teaches about the various kinds of HEART or GROUND whereupon The Word of Wisdom falls in His Parable of The Sower. [Mt 13:1-9, 18-23] The Parable of The Sower explains the personal responsibility each mortal has to cultivate Yahweh’s Word within their own heart. While being born again in spirit is a wonderful experience, Yahweh expects HIS children to mature into spiritual adults. Effective, consistent, and personal study of HIS Word is primary to accomplishing this. [Ps 1:1-3; Jn 8:31, 32; II Tim 2:15; 3:16-18; I Pet 2:2; I Cor 3:2; Heb 5:12-14] Enoch writes about speaking the divine Word before THE LORD OF SPIRITS. This is equivalent to speaking IN THE NAME OF THE LORD OF SPIRITS. Jesus Christ commissioned His brethren by saying,
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them IN THE NAME OF the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
[Mt 28:19, 20]
This means to bring people of every nation into the Kingdom of Righteousness by verbally declaring Yahweh’s Word to them IN THE NAME OF or AS IN THE PRESENCE OF THE DIVINE GODHEAD. This reiterates the importance of knowing that Yahweh is fully cognizant of what and how one speaks on HIS behalf. [Isa 50:4; Mt 28:18-20; Jn 12:45-50; Eph 4:29] Real messengers of THE LORD are to avoid force, dispute, and debate when imparting HIS Word. Mortals who truly desire HIS Word require no such abuse. The predestinated sheep of HIS flock readily hear and receive HIS Word. [II Tim 2:24-26; Jn 1:11-13; 6:37-40, 44, 45, 65; 8:38-47; 10:1-5, 14]
Chapter 38 leads into the 1st Parable of Enoch. In this chapter Enoch writes about the ultimate demise of the wicked. He writes about Christ and His being the glory of Yahweh’s Elect Ones. He writes about the allotted time given to the wicked to indulge in temporal pleasures of unrighteousness. He clarifies that once a mortal officially transitions to immortality, the innate quality of their spirit nature will not change. All in the spirit realm is genuinely good or evil and is dealt with accordingly. On The Final Day of Judgment there will be neither hope nor salvation for unrighteous spirits. [St Jn 3:36; Rev 22:11]
In Chapter 39, Enoch writes about seeing Christ in His heavenly abode under the wings of Yahweh, which is located above the 7th Heaven. [vs 7a] While the latest copy of Enoch’s Book is written in the Aramaic language, the Hebrew meaning for ‘WING/S’ is…
• Hb #3671 kanaph (kaw-nawf) it is a…
o edge, wing of a bird and wing of an army
o flap of a garment or bed-clothing
o quarter of the earth, pinnacle of a building and an EXTREMITY, which by definition is…
the extreme or terminal point, limit, or part of something
a limb of the body and the end part of a limb as a hand or foot
an extreme or extraordinary measure or act
extreme nature and character
Thus, the idea of The Wings of Yahweh denotes that most intimate place where HE communes with Christ and His brethren. [Jn 8:23, 24; 13:36; Rm 8:28-30; Heb 8:1, 2; Eph 1:3-6; Col 3:1-3] Enoch also beheld the dwelling places of the children of heaven. He indicates angelic beings who have or possesses the ability to generate seed with which they can impregnate mortal women. This was exemplified when the 200 fallen angels came to earth and became bulls or like unto mortal men. [vs 1] Enoch also denotes a great number of righteous spirits who dwell before Christ and who bless Yahweh. [7b; Jn 14:1-4] He writes that Yahweh expects HIS Elect Ones to praise HIM daily for what HE has established for them in Christ. [vs 9; Ps 33; 34:1; 100; Mt 6:8-13; Lk 10:20; I Cor 1:30]
In Chapter 40 there are Four Holy Archangels who directly impart information to Enoch. [vs 2]
They are…
• Michael who specializes in praise toward Yahweh.
• Raphael who specializes in praise toward Christ and His brethren.
• Gabriel who specializes in prayer for the children of earth and
• Phanuel who fends off the Satan that seeks to defame children of earth in the court of heaven. [Job 1:6-12; 2:1-10; Isa 54:16, 17]
These Archangels appear to be the highest-ranking angels who minister on behalf of the children of earth, namely the brethren of Christ. [Heb 1:7, 14]
In Chapter 41 Enoch writes about mansions in heaven as did Christ. [Jn 14:1-4]
He writes about the various dimensions of heaven, the great balance that weighs the actions of mortals, and how the wicked will be eternally punished in a place separate from the places reserved for the righteous. Enoch writes about how the sun and moon distinguish just and unjust persons on earth. [vs 8] He reiterates that Yahweh has appointed Christ to execute final judgment on all unrighteous spirits. [Acts 17:30, 31]
In Chapter 42 Enoch explains that unrighteousness anticipates no companionship but keeps an overflow of uninvited guests. On the other hand, Divine Wisdom consistently beckons for companionship, yet remains so lonely on earth, that it often returns to its abode in heaven. [Pro 8]
In Chapter 43, Enoch writes about The Book of Life, which is noted in The Old and New Testaments of The Holy Bible. Yahweh spoke of IT to Moses at [Exo 32:30-33]. Jesus Christ spoke of IT to His Disciples at [Lk 10:20] and Apostle John wrote of IT in The Book of Revelation at [Rev 13:17; 17:8; 20:11-15]. The NAME of every mortal is initially recorded in The Book of Life. However, many cause their own names to be blotted therefrom by rejecting Yahweh, HIS directives and divine worship. [Eccl 12:13; St 1:1-14; 3:19, 20, 36; Rm 8:1] Only those whose names are written in The Book of Life on The Final Day Judgment will be saved from The Second Death, which is the Lake of Fire. [Eno 47:3; Rev 20:11-15; 21:8]
Chapter 45 begins the 2nd Parable of Enoch, which is dedicated to those who discard THE HOLY GODHEAD. These people do not believe they will suffer eternal consequences for doing so. The Elect are not to be alarmed at the degree of wickedness these non-believers practice. [I Cor 1:18; II Tim 2:19; Gal 6:7]
Yahweh has already determined their eternal separation and demise. [Pro 8:17, 35, 36] In fact, The Elect are not to judge anyone, as Christ Jesus is the only One authorized to do so on THE LORD’S behalf. [Mt 7:1-5; Acts 17:30, 31]
In Chapters 46-49 and 71, Enoch reveals the preeminence of Christ. [Eno 71] He first acknowledged Christ by His epithet of ‘Head of Days’. Enoch reveals that Christ dwelt with and was named by Yahweh prior to all creation. [St Jn 1:1-5] Yahweh established Christ in everlasting uprightness when HE created Him. At one time, Christ was a hidden secret to some in heaven and to all on earth. Christ is the strength of His brethren. [II Cor 12:9, 10] He is also the Wisdom that causes them to dwell with Yahweh. [I Cor 1:30] All who desire the insight He imparts can receive it when they believe in and come to Him by faith. [Mt 11:28-30] Because Christ abides before Yahweh, so too can all who love righteousness. Satanic powers despise Christ and His brethren because it is He who destroys and judges them. [Eno 49:3; St Jn 3:16-20, 36; Rm 10:1-3]
In Chapter 50, Enoch foretells that Christ would come to earth to be of service to His brethren. Although His finished work at Calvary benefits all mortals, He was especially focused on those who were predestined to become sons of Yahweh. [Jn 1:10-13; 6:37-40, 44, 45, 68; Heb 2:9-18] The prayer He prayed per Apostle John’s epistle was not for the wicked of the world, but for His spiritual brethren. [Jn 17; Rm 8:28-30; Heb 2:9-18] Enoch writes about how the good works of The Elect inspire people to stop practicing idolatry, sorcery, and witchcraft. Their very lifestyle impacts the wellbeing of others. [Mt 5:14-16] Enoch reiterates that Yahweh’s temperament will permanently change toward those who oppose HIM from The Final Day of Judgment. [vs 4, 5; Isa 1:18-20]
In Chapter 51 Enoch reveals that Yahweh appointed Christ to give the Secrets of Wisdom and Counsel to HIS Elect Ones on earth. This is likely why Christ adamantly expressed that the words He spoke were not His Own, but Yahweh’s. Christ knew that Yahweh’s Word meant eternal life for those who believe and obey it. [Eccl 12:13; Jn 12:45-50; Mt 5:19; Heb 11:6; I Jn 5:3] This should be the mindset of all who are sent by Yahweh to speak HIS Word. [Isa 50:4; Rm 10:10-17; Eph 4:29; Phil 2:5] Enoch explains that salvation is actually the final act of divine grace bestowed upon mortals who transition to immortality in righteousness. [Rm 10:1-3; Phil 3:19, 20a] He also mentions a New Heaven and Earth as does Apostle John in his Epistle of Revelation. [Rev 20]
In Chapter 52, Enoch writes about the appearance of Christ before Yahweh, THE LORD OF SPIRITS. [vs 9] He discloses that all earthly materials used to manufacture weapons of warfare and murder will be destroyed in the presence of Christ along with those who created them. He clarifies that such weaponry is purposed to destroy Yahweh’s opposers. [Ps 16:4; Isa 57:16; Rev 4:11] Enoch knew Lucifer as Gadreel, The Angel of Death and leader of all disgraced spirits. Gadreel is the archangel who possesses the authority to impart death and destruction on all that opposes Yahweh. Ironically, he was created the most beautiful of angelic hosts, likely due to his former position as Chief Director of Praise toward Yahweh. Per Enoch, this position is now held by the Holy Archangel Michael. [Eno 53:3; Pro 16:4; Isa 14:12-22; 54:16; Eze 28; Jn 8:44; 10:10a; Rm 6:23] Only Christ can destroy Lucifer’s influence over the human mind. [Lk 4:18, 19; Acts 4:12; Jn 10:10b; I Jn 3:8]
In Chapter 53 Enoch writes about Christ being The Righteous and Elect One. [vs 5] He then offers more insight about Gadreel to whom many submit sacrifices at a place called Valley of Judgment. [vs 1-3; Eno 54:6] At the appointed time Yahweh will merrily behold the destruction of all who worship Gadreel. From that time, divine mercies will no longer be extended to these spirits. [Isa 54:16; Eze 18:4; Pro 8:17-18, 35, 36; 16:4; Jam 1:13-15; 4:7-10; Heb 10:26]
In Chapters 54 and 64 Enoch continues to provide insight about Gadreel. As mentioned previously, he is The Angel of Death and leader of all disgraced spirits. He is one of five Satans, to whom 200 children of heaven subjected themselves. Per their council these 200 fallen angels taught forbidden, hurtful, and murderous mysteries to the children of earth. Gadreel is also appointed overseer of The Valley of Judgment and is divinely authorized to destroy all who worship him. [vs 6; Enoch 69:5-8; Jn 8:44; Rm 6:23; Rev 12:4, 12] Spirits who perish with Gadreel or Lucifer do so because they choose to. [St Jn 3:19, 36] Although Lucifer incited the desire for sin in mortals, it was the 200 fallen angels who taught them the mysteries of sin. [Eno 54; Gen 3:1-6; Jude vs 6]
