The Book of Jubilees
An Intimate Review Pt 3
By Lawrence DeMetrius

Chapter 23 gives the reason why the mortal lifetime was shortened. [vs 9] While 70 years is a good length of mortal lifetime, THE LORD established that after The Great Flood 120 years would be the maximum lifetime allotted mortals on earth. [vs 12; Gen 6:3] It tells of Moses’s obligation to write down information for future generations, thus making him a scribe as well as a Prophet of Yahweh. [vs 32]

Chapter 25 tells that one can ask Yahweh to bless his mouth to properly impart blessing unto others. [vs 13-23; Isa 50:4] In fact, this was taught as a standard of speaking for The Oracles of Yahweh. [Eccl 5:3; Mt 5:37; 12:34-37; Eph 4:25, 29, 31; Jam 1:26, 27; 3]

Chapter 28 gives a great example of a Week, which is Seven Days and per this discourse, is equivalent to 7 YEARS. In this passage, the example of a Week being Seven Years, is expressed per Jacob’s business arrangement with Laban, the father of his wives Leah and Rachel. In this rendition of Jacob’s story, he was given Leah first because she was the eldest daughter. However, Laban gave him Rachel in advance in exchange for Seven more Weeks meaning Years of service. Also noted is that THE LORD shut up Rachel’s womb, and blessed Leah’s womb to bare children because Jacob loved Rachel more simply because of her natural beauty. Again, Rachel is the daughter, who like her father Laban had a problem with idols. [vs 1, 2, 8]

Chapter 29 gives information about the giants that existed in Canaan after The Great Flood. [vs 9-11]

Chapter 30 tells of how Jacob’s daughter Dinah was kidnapped and raped by the prince of Shechem and the controversy it caused. The passage also notes The Book of Life, which is also noted by Moses, Jesus Christ, and Apostle John. [vs 22; Exo 32:32, 33; Lk 10:20; Rev 20:12]

Chapter 31 tells of trinkets and jewelry designed in homage to idols. Jacob had some removed from his own household.
Such items were owned by some of his servants and even his wife Rachel. [vs 1, 2] The passage speaks of a Spirit of Prophecy that comes upon a person to speak blessings upon others. It came upon Jacob to bless his sons Levi and Judah. By it, Jacob ordained Levi to become The Nation of High Priests unto Yahweh. Also, that Judah would inherit The Blessing of Isaac. Chapter 31 discloses that Jesus the Christ would come from The Tribe of Judah. [vs 12-32]

Chapter 32 gives more information about tithes. Here, Jacob who vows a tenth of his increase, which was acceptable to THE LORD for sacrifices. He likely did this because he knew it was the blessed portion allotted to The Levites for their services in THE LORD’S TEMPLES. [vs 10-15] The chapter tells of Jacob’s name change to Israel and the favor bestowed upon his biological and spiritual decedents. [vs 17, 18] It clarifies that everything predestinated to happen on earth is already accounted for in heaven. This is why it is appropriate to pray that Yahweh’s will be done in earth as it already is in heaven. [vs 21-25; Num 23:19; Mt 6:10]

Chapter 33 reiterates abstinence from fornication. [vs 10-20; 20:1-6; I Cor 6:13-20; Rev 21:8]

Chapter 34 mentions Potiphar THE EUNUCH who served Pharaoh as Chief Cook and Priest in the city of Elew. It accounts to the experience of Joseph being wrongfully charged and imprisoned for raping Potiphar’s WIFE. [vs 11] The chapter records that Joseph’s second wife Bilhah and daughter Dinah mourned him so after his death, that they died of sadness and were buried next to Sarah his first wife. [vs 15, 16]

Chapter 35 gives an account of why Isaac denounced his favor for Esau, his first-born son. Initially, Jacob did love Esau the most because he was his first-born son. However, when Esau decided to turned from a devoted life of worship unto Yahweh, Jacob’s love for him dwindled and increased for Jacob, who remained a devoted worshiper of THE LORD. [vs 13, 14]

Chapter 36 reiterates abstinence from idolatry of every kind. [vs 5] Here, Isaac expressed the unfortunate consequence of those who seek to harm their own brethren. [vs 9-11] This is later expressed in the teaching of Apostle John who describes this as hatred and murder in Yahweh’s perspective. [I Jn 3:14-18]
The passage also notes that Isaac did indeed love Leah after Rachel. He described her as the most honorable, upright, kind, and loyal woman, who never uttered a disdainful word to or about him, in spite of his favor for Rachel during her lifetime. [vs 21-24]

Chapters 37 and 38 report the feuding that occurred between Jacob and Esau. [37:2, 9]

Chapter 39 gives more information about physical fornication. Per this account, it is when a single person is sexually active with a married person. This offense is punishable by death in Yahweh’s perspective and is recorded in heaven against those who practice it. [vs 6]

Chapter 40 tells of Joseph’s interpretation of the great famine coming to pass. [vs 11]

Chapter 41 tells of another form of fornication being sexual engagement between in-laws. [vs 23-25]

Chapters 42-44 gives the account of the great famine and Jacob’s reunion with his father Isaac.

Chapter 45 reports that all books of righteous living inspired by Yahweh were passed down to Jacob, who imparted them to The Levites to teach. Thus, The Levitical Priests were responsible for teaching both The Mosaic Laws and The Parables of Enoch. Thus, it was through Enoch’s writings that the forefathers of all nations initially learned of Yahweh, HIS directives, Christ, the existence of angelic beings and evil spirits. It is also how they learned about The Seven Heavens above the earth and The Four Plain of Sheol beneath the earth, in which all mortal spirits are preserved until The Final Day of Judgement. [vs 16]

Chapter 46 speaks of Jacob’s death at 147 years old. [vs 13] It also speaks of the Egyptian enslavement of the children of Israel. [vs 13-15]

Chapter 47 notes that Moses witnessed the quarrel of two Hebrew brethren and his personal flight from Egypt.

Chapter 48 tells why Yahweh inflicted The Ten Plagues upon Egypt. [vs 5-8] More specifically, the watery death of Pharaoh and his army was Yahweh’s vengeance upon them for murdering the male Hebrew babies, in an attempt to slow down Israel’s child reproduction. [vs 14] The passage notes that Lucifer was present at and helped Pharaoh’s sorcerers during the serpent eating serpent event in Pharaoh’s court. [vs 9, 10] Finally, the chapter reports that THE LORD made the Egyptians reimburse Israel for their labor as they exited their country. [vs 18, 29]

Chapter 49 reveals that the angelic power assigned to take the lives of all the first born in Egypt during first Passover was indeed Lucifer, known as Mastema in this account. As noted in The Book of Proverbs, all things are created for Yahweh’s pleasure including the wicked for the day of evil. [Pro 16:4]

Chapter 50 covers the strict regulation of keeping The Sabbath Day for Israel and all Yahweh worshipers. Upon receiving salvation in Christ Jesus, all born-again believers are of expected of THE LORD to live the rest of their mortal life in The Day of Rest HE has established for them in Christ. Per [Heb 4] Yahweh is adamant about them doing so.
