The Purpose
for Daily Prayer, Praise & Proclamation
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Per the Holy Scriptures Yahweh does not recognize the prayers of those who do not worship HIM. Apostle John notes,
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth His will, him He heareth.
[Jn 9:31]
In fact, the prayer of an unrepentant sinner is an abomination to THE LORD. King Solomon writes,
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
[Pro 28:9]
Indeed, Yahweh’s primary interest is restoring mortal souls to divine worship. HE would be working against HIS OWN Will by honoring the prayers of mortals who do not desire to be restored to their WHOLE DUTY, which is to worship HIM. King Solomon writes,
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
[Eccl 12:13]
The Lord Jesus said,
But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
[St Jn 4:23, 24]
Because mortal restoration to divine worship is Yahweh’s primary concern, HE sent Jesus the Christ to be the Propitiation for them all.
The Lord Jesus said,
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
[St Jn 3:16-18]
Apostle John notes,
My little children, these things write I unto you that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
[I Jn 2:1, 2]
THE LORD YAHWEH said through Prophet Ezekiel,
Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways and live?
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel <or any nation>?
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: Wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
[Eze 18:4, 23, 31, 32]
Those who choose not to be restored to divine worship condemn themselves to Yahweh’s wrath that is already pronounced upon Lucifer, all fallen angels and sin. In so doing, their prayers are become dishonorable to THE LORD.
The Lord Jesus said,
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[St Jn 3:19, 20]
Apostle John writes,
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
[St Jn 3:36]
Blessedly, the effectual fervent prayer of one who is considered righteous in Yahweh’s perspective avails much. [Jam 5:16] True born-again believers are commanded to practice effective prayer on a daily basis. They can only do so by utilizing the prayer formula provisioned by Jesus Christ. This formula covers all points that should be addressed to THE LORD daily in prayer. The formula is noted by Apostle Matthew at [Mt 6:9-13]. The prayers presented in Prayer, Praise & Proclamation invokes daily THANKSGIVING unto THE LORD, WHO inhabits the praises of HIS true worshippers. The Lord Jesus said,
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.
[Mt 6:9]
King David writes,
But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel <and all true worshippers of Yahweh>.
[Ps 22:3]
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His Name.
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.
[Ps 100]
He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men.
And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.
[Ps 107:20-22]
THE LORD is fully aware of the praises due to HIM from all living things, especially mortals. This is so because it is HE WHO creates it. HE said through Prophet Isaiah,
I create the fruit of the lips;
[Isa 57:19a]
In support of this idea the Scribe of the Book of Hebrews notes,
By Him <Christ> therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to HIS <Yahweh’s> NAME.
[Heb 13:15]
The prayers presented in Prayer, Praise & Proclamation acknowledges and declares what THE LORD has already decreed over the lives of HIS worshipers and the world. The Lord Jesus said,
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
[Mt 6:10]
Apostle John notes that one should be confident in prayer that is compliant to Yahweh’s Will writing,
And this is the confidence we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us:
And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
[I Jn 5:14, 15]
THE LORD already has a plan of success in place for each of HIS worshipers. Prayer that is compliant to HIS plan invokes manifestations of the benefits thereof in due season. THE LORD said through Prophet Jeremiah,
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
[Jer 29:11]
Apostle Paul writes,
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
[Rm 8:28]
Because of the warfare constantly occurring between one’s renewed and carnal minds, THE LORD must empower them to will and do according to HIS good pleasure. [Phil 2:13; Rm 7:14-25] The prayers of Prayer, Praise & Proclamation affirm the compassions, mercies and blessings that Yahweh bestows upon each of HIS worshipers with each new day. The Lord Jesus teaches His brethren to daily pray,
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
[Mt 6:11, 12]
Prophet Jeremiah writes,
It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.
[Lam 3:22, 23]
If one is to decree anything over and in their lives it should be what Yahweh has already spoken concerning their wellbeing. The Scribe of The Book of Job writes,
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
[Job 22:28]
Concerning the power of one’s own decree King Solomon writes,
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
[Pro 18:21]
The prayers of Prayer, Praise & Proclamation fulfil one’s obligation of addressing the evil that is set to challenge them on a daily basis. The Lord Jesus said,
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Take no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
[Mt 6:13, 34]
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
[Jn 16:33]
The thief cometh not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they <Yahweh’s sheep> might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
[Jn 10:10]
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy Name.
And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightening fall from heaven.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
[Lk 10:17-19]
Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you,
What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
[Mk 11:22-24]
The daily prayers presented in Prayer, Praise & Proclamation assist the Holy Angels of Yahweh who are sent to serve HIS worshipers in some capacity every day. The Scribe of The Book of Hebrews writes,
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
[Heb 1:14]
In addition to one’s personal communion with Yahweh, the prayers of Prayer, Praise & Proclamation serve as a point of divine worship whereby brethren of Christ can unite in effective prayer for themselves, their households and that of born-again believers worldwide.
