Lesson 9 of 77
Yahweh Searches for Worthy Hearts
{See Lessons 7, 9, 18, 22, 23, 48, 53, 76}
By Lawrence DeMertius
In every generation Yahweh actively seeks out hearts that are whole towards HIM to show HIMSELF strong in their behalf. Hanani the Seer declared in his dialogue with King Asa, a truth that is fitting for all to know, understand, and believe. He said,
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew HIMSELF strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward HIM.
[II Chr 16:9]
Yahweh desires to be worshipped in a certain way, which is with an intellect renewed by divine insight and governed by that which is true. The Lord Jesus said,
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.
[St Jn 4:23, 24]
Every mortal who is found of Yahweh with a heart that is whole toward HIM, HE chooses and at an appointed time by the Holy Ghost, draws them to Christ for redemption, empowerment to live righteously and to receive divine enlightenment. The Lord Jesus said,
All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven not to do Mine Own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.
And this is the Father’s will which hath sent Me, that of all which HE hath given Me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
No man can come to Me except the Father which hath sent Me, draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard of the Father, cometh unto Me.
…No man can come unto Me, except it were given unto him of My Father.
[Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45, 65]
Upon being born again Yahweh infuses HIS sons with power to exclusively worship HIM through Christ the Word and the Holy Ghost, for this cannot be done any other way. The Lord Jesus said,
I am the Vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
[Jn 15:5]
Apostle John writes,
But the anointing which ye have received of HIM abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.
[I Jn 2:27]
Only exclusive worship to Yahweh can invoke revelation of HIS acceptable, good, and perfect will for one’s life. Prophet Daniel writes,
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
[Dan 12:10]
Apostle Paul writes,
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
[Rm 12:1, 2]
Because Yahweh requires HIS born-again sons to live in truth, HE empowers them to realistically deal with their spiritual and natural self, which includes their carnal nature.
In fact, the primary reason for daily prayer is to receive direction and protection from influences devised to invoke reaction from one’s carnal self, which is always weak thereto. The Lord Jesus said,
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
[Mt 26:41]
The irony of the weakness of mortal nature is that it is the only place designated by Yahweh, to be the place where the strength of Christ the Word can be made perfect. In his dialogue with Apostle Paul, the Lord Jesus declares that which is true for all of His Brethren. He said,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
[II Cor 12:9a]
As Yahweh continues HIS work of spiritual perfection within each of HIS sons, HE provides all they will ever need during their mortal lifetime and more, because HE finds their hearts worthy of HIS seeking. Apostle Paul writes,
And we know that all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.
For whom HE did foreknow, HE also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover, whom HE did predestinate, them HE also called: and whom HE called, them HE also justified: and whom HE justified, them HE also glorified.
[Rm 8:28-30]
