Lesson 29 of 77
Learn and Obey Yahweh’s Will
{See Lessons 8, 48}
By Lawrence DeMetrius

The Elect of God are required to learn of HIS Will and they do so through Holy Ghost revelation, scriptural study, and everyday life experience. King David writes,

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in HIS law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
[Ps 1:1-3]

Apostle Paul writes,

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
[II Tim 2:15]

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
[II Tim 3:16, 17]

The Lord Jesus said,

If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:31, 32, 36]

Howebeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: For He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.
[Jn 16:13]

In fact, the determining factor of one’s devotion to Yahweh is their commitment to learning and obeying HIS directives. Apostle John writes,

For this is the love of God, that we keep HIS commandments: and HIS commandments are not grievous.
[I Jn 5:3]

Jesus Christ is the ultimate personification of Yahweh’s Word, by Whom HIS Elect on earth is empowered to abide in divine worship. Apostle John writes,

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made BY Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He came unto His Own, and His Own received Him not.
But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us <the Original Apostles of Christ>, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
[Jn 1:1-4, 9, 11-14]

The Lord Jesus said,

I am the Vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
[Jn 15:5]
Per Yahweh, all mortals who oppose Christ the Word are deemed children of disobedience, who incur the unfortunate fate of Lucifer and all fallen angels, which is the Second Death. Regarding their fate on the Final Day of Judgment. Apostle Mathew writes,

Then shall He <Christ the Judge> say also unto them on the left hand <the children of disobedience>, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
[Mt 25:41]

Apostle John writes,

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
[St Jn 3:36]

The Lord Jesus said,

I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.
[Jn 8:12, 23, 24]

Apostle John writes,

And the devil that deceived them <the children of disobedience> was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
[Rev 20:10, 15]

The Book of Hebrews notes,

Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by THE LORD and was confirmed unto us by them that heard HIM;
[Heb 2:1-3]

For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries <of God>.
He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God, and hath counted the Blood of the Covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
For we know HIM that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto ME, I WILL recompense, saith THE LORD. And again, THE LORD shall judge HIS people <which are all peoples>.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
[Heb 10:26-31]

Per the Lord Jesus, many mortals will not realize the consequence of their irreverence towards Yahweh and Himself, until they transition from mortal to immortality. He said,

Verily I say unto, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom.
[Mt 16:28]

Embracing and obeying Yahweh’s directives are only grievous to those who lack the mind and will to do so.

The Lord Jesus said,

He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[St Jn 3:18-20]

Apostle Paul writes,

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of HIM from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made, even HIS eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified HIM not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient <or not fitting or becoming>;
[Rm 1:18-21, 28]

But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil…
For there is no respect of persons with God.
[Rm 2:8, 9, 11]

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh;
For to be carnally minded is death;
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
[Rm 8:5a, 6a, 7]

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
[I Cor 1:18a]

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the Image of God, should shine unto them.
[II Cor 4:3, 4]

The mind of repentance or change from dark to light is only imparted by Yahweh to those who reverently inquire of the Testimony of HIS Beloved Son Jesus the Christ. Apostle Paul writes,

And the servant of the LORD must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient.
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves: if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
[II Tim 2:24-26]

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of HIS good pleasure.
[Phil 2:13]

Per the Lord Jesus, only those who are taught of Yahweh will come to Him for spiritual enlightenment.

He said,

All that the Father giveth to Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven not to do My Own will, but the will of HIM that sent Me.
And this is the Father’s will which sent Me, that of all which HE hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
And this is the will of HIM that sent Me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
No man can come to Me except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me.
Therefore, said I unto you, that no man can come unto Me, except it were given unto him of My Father.
[Jn 6:37-40, 44, 45, 65]

Those who live to learn and obey Yahweh’s Will have no need to fear condemnation and the Second Death. Apostle Paul writes,

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
[II Tim 1:7]

Apostle John writes,

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
And this is the promise that HE hath promised us, even eternal life.
[I Jn 2:24, 25]

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know HIM that is true, and we are in HIM that is true, even in HIS Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
[I Jn 5:20]

The Lord Jesus said,

If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: And he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.
If a man love Me, he will keep My words, and My Father will love him, and WE will come unto him, and make OUR abode with him.
He that loveth Me not keepeth not My sayings: and the word which ye hear is not Mine but the Father’s which sent Me.
[Jn 14:15, 21, 23, 24]
