Lesson 23 of 77
Divine Teachers Pt I
{See Lessons 22, 38, 48, 67, 76}
By Lawrence DeMetrius

Those who teach and obey the Doctrine of Jesus Christ are considered great in the Kingdom of Heaven. The Lord Jesus said,

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[Mt 5:19]

However, to maintain this disposition, one must remain wholeheartedly devoted to the Doctrine of Christ, as gifts and callings come without repentance. Apostle Paul writes,

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
[Rm 11:29]

Those who are great in the Kingdom of God retain freewill to live as do common people. Being fully devoted to divine greatness requires daily resolve to embrace all that accompanies it, which includes severance of worldly ties that discourage it. Apostle Paul writes,

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
[Heb 12:1]

Apostle John writes,

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
[I Jn 2:15-17]
Regarding respect to placing all confidence in one’s own perspective with no regard to Yahweh’s King Solomon writes,

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
[Pro 1:7]

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
[Pro 3:5-8]

Contrary to popular belief and practice, obtaining accurate understanding of the Holy Scriptures is more valuable than the ability to memorize and quote them. King Solomon writes,

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her.
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
[Pro 4:7-9]

Proclamation of divine truth with accurate understanding is what liberates the mortal mind from all lying persuasions. Apostle Paul writes,

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
[II Tim 2:15]

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
[II Tim 3:16, 17]
The Lord Jesus said,

If ye continue in My word then are ye My disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:31, 32, 36]

Those who teach and do divine principles as provisioned by Yahweh, through HIS scribes, prophets, and teachers, from Enoch to Christ and His Original Apostles, are admonished to practice humility, studiousness, and respectfulness, when imparting their insight to others. Apostle Paul writes,

And the servant of the LORD must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves: if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth:
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
[II Tim 2:24-26]

True teachers taught and sent by Yahweh only speak as HE instructs them to as did Christ. Prophet Isaiah writes,

The LORD God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: HE wakeneth morning by morning, HE wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
[Isa 50:4]

The Lord Jesus said,

He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath ONE that judgeth him: The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, HE gave Me a commandment what I should say, and what I should speak.
And I know that HIS commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.
[Jn 12:48-50]
Apostle Paul writes,

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearer.
[Eph 4:29]

As teachers of Yahweh speak per HIS guidance, the Holy Ghost accompanies their speech with demonstration and power. Apostle Paul writes,

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
[I Cor 2:1, 2, 4, 5]

When Yahweh’s appointed teachers fail to speak as they should, many people suffer unnecessarily. Yahweh declared through Prophet Hosea,

MY people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to ME: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
[Hos 4:6]

As divine teachers are front line soldiers in the LORD’S army of justified believers, they are in fact appointed and equipped to effectively destroy Lucifer’s kingdom on earth. Therefore, they must be ready to endure persecution allotted them for righteousness’ sake if need be. The Lord Jesus said,

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
[Mt 5:11, 12]

These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
[Jn 16:33]

Above all, divine teachers are known in the world by their loving demeanor, life giving speech, and righteous life style. The Lord Jesus said,

A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.
[Jn 13:34, 35]

Apostle Paul writes,

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
[I Cor 9:27]

But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way <the way of love>.
[I Cor 12:31]

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
[I Cor 13:13]
