Lesson 34 of 77
Look To Thyself
{See Lesson 38, 71}
By Lawrence DeMetrius
The Elect of God must always beware of false prophets, who teach contrarily to the Doctrine of Christ the Messiah. By their false teachings they disclose themselves as agents of the anti-Christ. The most subtle of them have the ability to deceive even the very Elect of God. The Lord Jesus said,
For many shall come in My Name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very Elect.
[Mt 24:5, 11, 24]
Yahweh personally educates HIS worshipers through scriptural study, Holy Ghost revelation, and everyday life experience. The Lord Jesus said,
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.
[St Jn 5:39]
These are the words which I <Christ> spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.
Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.
[Lk 24:44, 45]
He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
<Apostle John explains> (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
[Jn 7:38, 39]
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, Whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[Jn 14:26]
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you <born-again sons of God> into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.
[Jn 16:13]
Apostle Paul writes,
Study to shew thyself approved unto GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
[II Tim 2:15]
…the holy scriptures…are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
[II Tim 3:15-17]
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
[II Pet 1:20, 21]
God, WHO in sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, Whom HE hath appointed heir of all things by Whom also HE made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of HIS glory, and the express image of HIS PERSON, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when HE had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the MAJESTY on high;
[Heb 1:1-3]
There is no reason for Yahweh Worshipers to second-guess the enlightenment HE imparts unto them. They are admonished to remain confident in the enlightenment they receive of THE LORD, and never permit another to lead them astray therefrom. Apostle Paul writes,
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine <of Christ>; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
[I Tim 4:16]
The Lord Jesus said,
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
[Rev 3:11]
In so doing, their entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven will be abundant. Apostle Peter writes,
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God <concerning HIS Son Jesus Christ>?
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
[I Pet 4:17, 18]
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure; for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
[II Pet 1:10, 11]
Having Christ the Word and the Holy Ghost as their Guide, every son of God is admonished to always Look To Themselves concerning the Testimony of Jesus Christ.
Apostle John writes,
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in <Christ> the Son, and in <Yahweh> the Father.
And this is the promise that HE hath promised us <the redeemed>, even eternal life.
[I Jn 2:24, 25]
