Lesson 53 of 77
Watch, Look and Never Turn Away
{See Lessons 51, 76}
By Lawrence DeMetrius

Yahweh Worshippers are admonished to always beware of Lucifer and his temptations. The primary reason for doing so is because of the vulnerability in their carnal nature. The Lord Jesus said,

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
[Mt 26:41]

Apostle James writes,

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth HE any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
[Jam 1:13-15]

Devils only tempt per one’s own desire. Lucifer and his allies are fully aware of mortal weakness, and devise temptations accordingly. In fact, the only reason why satanic forces engage mortals, is to steal, kill, and destroy their wellbeing. The Lord Jesus said,

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
[Jn 10:10a]

Christ Jesus warns His brethren, that evil spirits will come to challenge them to some degree every day. He said,

Take no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
[Mt 6:34b]
In their obedience to divine directives, the sons of God will always overcome the challenges of evil forces. With each challenge they, as did Christ will overcome them by simply adhering to Yahweh’s instruction. Apostle Matthew writes,

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
[Mt 4:1]

Apostle James writes,

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[Jam 4:7]

In regard to divinely appointed seasons of testing, Apostle Peter writes,

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to HIM in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
[I Pet 4:19]

The Elect of God must maintain that THE LORD will never allow more upon them then they can bear. Apostle Paul writes,

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, WHO will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
[I Cor 10:13]

The Elect of God are to always anticipate THE LORD’S blessings. King David writes,

THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
[Ps 23:1]

In regard to the common needs of the mortal lifetime, the Lord Jesus said,

…seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you.
[Mt 6:33]

The Elect of God are to always expect THE LORD’S protection. The Psalms say,

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from THE LORD, which made heaven and earth.
HE will not suffer thy foot to be moved: HE that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, HE that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
THE LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
THE LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: HE shall preserve thy soul.
THE LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.
[Ps 121]

The Lord Jesus and the Holy Ghost intercede for Yahweh’s Elect on earth. Apostle Paul writes,

Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And He <Christ> that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the Mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
[Rm 8:26, 27]

Wherefore He <Christ> is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.
[Heb 7:25]

The Lord Jesus prayed to Yahweh while He was on earth saying,

I pray for them <His brethren on earth>: I pray not for the world, but for them which THOU hast given Me; for they are THINE.
And all Mine are THINE, and THINE are Mine; and I am glorified in them.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to THEE. HOLY FATHER, keep through THINE OWN NAME those whom THOU hast given Me, that they may be one, as we are.
I pray not that THOU shouldest take them out of the world, but that THOU shouldest keep them from the evil.
[Jn 17:9-11, 15]
As it is by the strength of Christ that Yahweh empowers born-again believers to in every season of their lives Watch, Look, and Never Turn Away from Christ, their Eternal Hope and Glory, let each one be given to doing so. Apostle Paul writes,

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the Blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do HIS will, working in you that which is well pleasing in HIS sight, through Jesus Christ; to Whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
[Heb 13:20, 21]
