Lesson 55 of 77
Christ The Abundant Life
{See Lessons 5, 6, 20, 21, 37, 40, 49, 75}
By Lawrence DeMetrius
As challenged as mortal life has become due to sin and the carnal nature, it can be worth living with knowledge and faith in Christ the Word. The book of Job notes,
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
[Job 14:1, 2]
Concerning that which can make one’s life better Apostle Paul writes,
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
[Rm 10:17]
Hearing and believing in the Testimony of Christ, the true spirit of prophecy, is what initiates fuller insight into who He is, and what He means to the children of earth. The Lord Jesus said,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
[St Jn 5:24]
Apostle John writes,
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
He came unto His Own, and His Own received Him not.
But as many as did receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even them that believe on His Name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[St Jn 1:4, 9-13]
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
This He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood.
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, That we may know HIM that is true, and we are in HIM that is true, even in HIS Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
[I Jn 5:4, 5, 6a, 20]
…for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
[Rev 19:10b]
Yahweh sent Christ the Word to destroy the influence of satanic powers that seek to destroy His brethren on earth. The Lord Jesus said,
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
[Jn 10:10]
Apostle Paul writes,
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of the flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same: <Why?> that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil:
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
[Heb 2:14, 15]
Apostle John writes,
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for HIS Seed remaineth in him; and he cannot sin <or be anymore enslaved to the power of sin>, because he is born of God.
[I Jn 3:8, 9]
Christ destroyed Lucifer’s power by becoming the propitiation for the sins of all mortals. Apostle John writes,
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
[I Jn 2:1, 2]
Christ continues to be victorious as the overcoming power of sin, by imparting to His brethren divine insight concerning their identity and purpose as Yahweh’s reconciled worshipers. Yahweh said through Moses what is fitting for all nations of the earth,
Thou shalt have no other gods before ME.
[Exo 20:3]
King Solomon writes,
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep HIS commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
[Eccl 12:13]
The Lord Jesus said,
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit <renewed intellect> and in truth <reality>: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.
[St Jn 4:23, 24]
If ye continue in My word, then are ye MY disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:31, 32, 36]
Concerning the predestinated identity and purpose of the brethren of Christ Apostle Paul writes,
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.
For whom HE did foreknow, HE also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren.
[Rm 8:28, 29]
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new <in Yahweh’s perspective>.
[II Cor 5:17]
It is fitting for those who are spiritually blind to perceive the born-again sons of God, as insanely unfortunate, when in fact, they are reflections of what nonbelievers should attain to be. The best that born-again believers can share with the unsaved, is their own testimony and that of Christ’s from, which theirs is generated. Prophet Daniel writes,
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
[Dan 12:3, 10]
Apostle Paul writes,
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the Image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God, WHO commanded the Light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the Face of Jesus Chris.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the Excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
[II Cor 4:5-7]
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Holding forth the word of life;
[Phil 2:15, 16a]
The Lord Jesus said,
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall break on of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[Mt 5:14-16, 19]
Those who worship Yahweh through Christ the Word and the Holy Ghost, are living the most secure life possible. Apostle Paul writes,
Wherefore He <Christ> is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.
[Heb 7:25]
While no mortal is without sin, those who are justified by Yahweh, because of their faith filled obedience in Christ, are no longer slaves to the power of sin, or the carnal nature. Apostle Paul writes,
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by HIS grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His Blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time His righteousness: that HE might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
[Rm 3:23-26]
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants of God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
[Rm 6:12, 17, 18, 20, 22]
In Christ, the born-again sons of God are delivered from condemnation and wrath that now rests upon Lucifer, and all that remain willingly subject to sin. The Lord Jesus said,
He that believeth on Me is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
…he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
[St Jn 3:18-20, 36b]
Apostle Paul expounds upon deliverance from condemnation writing,
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending HIS OWN Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[Rm 8:1-4]
There is no excuse for any to inherit the fate purposed for Lucifer and his angels, when Christ is become The Abundant Life for all through faith in His Name.
