Christ The Acceptable Righteousness

Mortals are divinely created to be like Yahweh. Moses writes,

And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness:
So God created man in HIS OWN image, in the image of God created HE him; male and female created HE them.
And God saw every living thing that HE had made, and, behold, it was very good.
[Gen 1:26a, 27]

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And the LORD God said, It is not good that THE MAN <Adam the first man> should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
[Gen 2:7, 18, 23]

Mortals are purposed to reverence, obey, and fellowship with Yahweh and be HIS glory in the earth. King Solomon writes,

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep HIS commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
[Eccl 12:13]

As mortals are created in HIS Likeness and Image, Yahweh does not see them as filthy rags. However, HE does see their unrighteousness as such because it denotes idolatry. Yahweh said through Moses,

Thou shalt have no other gods before ME.
[Exo 20:3]


In regard to those who impress upon others the practice of idolatry Prophet Nahum writes,

And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
[Nah 1:14]

Apostle Paul writes,

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified HIM not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
WHO CHANGED <idolaters> the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, WHO is blessed forever. Amen.
[Rm 1:21-25]

Right now, the only acceptable righteousness before THE LORD is Jesus Christ the Messiah, Who can only be obtained by faith, not works. Apostle Paul writes of Israel and all nations who go about establishing their own righteousness,

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.
[Rm 10:1-4]


Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found of Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
[Phil 3:8, 9]

As Yahweh THE HEAVENLY FATHER has made Christ to be the acceptable righteousness for all mortals, let everyone forever live before HIM in Christ. Apostle Paul writes,

But of HIM <Yahweh> are ye in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
That, according as it is written, he that glorieth, let him glory in the LORD.
[I Cor 1:30]
