Lesson 67 of 77
Divine Teachers Pt. 4
{See Lessons 23, 32, 38}
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Divine Teachers are the sweet savor of Jesus Christ in Yahweh’s nostrils. Their savor is also sensed by just and unjust mortals. Apostle Paul writes,
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of HIS knowledge by us in every place.
For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
To the one we are the savor of death unto death; and to the other the savor of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
[II Cor 2:14-17]
Those who are sent to teach the pure gospel of Jesus Christ, are co-workers with Yahweh in delivering mortal spirits from the dominion of darkness. The Lord Jesus said,
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
[Mt 5:14-16]
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the glorious gospel of Christ, Who is the Image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God, WHO commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
[II Cor 4:3-7]
The voices of Divine Teachers are likened to trumpets that are used by THE HOLY GODHEAD to call all wayward and fallen souls back into divine worship. As did the ancient prophets of Israel to Israel, so too does this call go out to all nations of the world. Prophet Isaiah writes,
Cry loud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew MY people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
[Isa 58:1]
The productivity and office of divine teaching at work on earth, is essential to the universal Ministry of Divine Iconoclasm. Thus, Yahweh’s teachers must be in place and clearly recognized as the brightness of the day and the stars that shine at night. There are no secret servants of the LORD and HIS Christ when it comes to Oracles who are distributers of the Divine Gospel. Prophet Daniel writes,
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.
[Dan 12:3]
The Lord Jesus said,
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
[Mt 28:19, 20]
As only Divine Teachers are equipped to effectively proclaim The Testimony of Jesus Christ, Yahweh expects them to do so as needed and according to their several abilities. Prophet Isaiah writes,
The LORD God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: HE wakeneth morning by morning, HE wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
[Isa 50:4]
King Solomon writes,
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it?
[Pro 15:23]
Apostle Paul writes,
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
[Gal 6:1]
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
[Col 4:6]
But sanctify the LORD God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
[I Pet 3:15]
If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to Whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
[I Pet 4:11]
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power;
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
[I Cor 2:4, 5]
The Lord Jesus said,
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear that preach ye upon the housetops.
[Mt 10:27]
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
[Lk 12:48b]
Apostle John writes,
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His Name is called The Word of God.
And He had on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
[Rev 19:10, 13, 16]
Teachers who are truly sent by Yahweh understand that they are only to instruct others in the fruit of divine love, meekness, humility, and patience. Apostle Paul writes,
And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves: if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
[II Tim 2:24-26]
When the teachers of the LORD fail to teach in the right mind frame, many souls suffer unnecessarily. This is turn can cause them to forfeit their office of priest unto THE LORD and HIS Christ. As it was in time past, so it is today per the word of THE LORD through Prophet Hosea who writes,
Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
Therefore, shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
MY people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to ME: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
[Hos 4:4-6]
As experienced by Divine Teachers throughout all generations, persecution is possible for publicly declaring the Testimony of Jesus Christ effectively. The Lord Jesus said,
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
[Mt 5:11, 12]
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
[Jn 16:33]
I have given them THY word <instructions>; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
I pray not that THOU shouldest take them out of the world, but that THOU shouldest keep them from the evil <that is in the world>.
As THOU hast sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
[Jn 17:14, 15, 18]
Thankfully, Yahweh never allows more upon any of HIS children than they can bear. Apostle Paul writes,
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, WHO will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
[I Cor 10:13]
Divine Teachers are to first maintain their own well-being by practicing what they teach unto others. The Lord Jesus said,
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[Mt 5:19]
