Lesson 68 of 77
Mortals Are Triune Beings
{See Lessons 1, 17, 25}
By Lawrence DeMetrius

Mortals Are Triune Beings meaning they are one being with three bodies. It is the intent of Yahweh to preserve the whole being of every born-again believer until the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul writes,

And the very GOD of peace sanctify you wholly <w-h-o-l-l-y>; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is HE that calleth you, Who also will do it.
[I Thes 5:23, 24]

Per this scripture…

*sanctify Gk #37 hagiazo (hag-ee-ad-zo) it is to…
• make holy and ceremonially pure
• ceremonially purify and consecrate
• mentally venerate
• to hallow and be holy

This is something that only Yahweh can do in regard to preparation for divine service and spiritual perfection.

*wholly Gk #3651 holoteles (hol-ot-el-ace) it means to complete to the end and absolutely perfect

*whole Gk #3648 holokleros (hol-ok-lay-ros) it means to be complete in every part, perfectly sound in body and whole

This description refers to that which is in Jesus Christ.

*preserved Gk #5083 tereo (tay-reh-o) it is to…
• guard from loss or injury by keeping the eye upon
• detain in custody and maintain
• withhold for personal ends and to keep unmarried

This refers to what Yahweh does regarding those who have been predestinated to exclusively worship HIM through Christ.

*blameless Gk #274 amemptos (am-emp-toce) it means faultlessly and unblameable

This describes those who are in Christ and are considered faultless and blameless before Yahweh despite their mortal imperfections. Apostle Paul writes,

For all have sinned <been enslaved to the power of sin>, and come short <past and present tense> of the glory of
God;
Being justified freely by HIS grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His Blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance God;
To declare, I say, at this time HIS righteousness: that HE <Yahweh> might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
[Rm 3:23-26]

*spirit Gk #4151 pneuma (pnyoo-mah) it is…
• a current of air, breath, blast, or breeze
• the human rational soul or vital principal
• mental disposition
• a superhuman like a holy angel, a fallen angel, Yahweh, the Mind of Christ, and Holy Ghost
• that which refers to one’s life, mind, and spiritual nature

*soul Gk #5590 psuche (psoo-khay) which is…
• breath of life and spirit
• the animal sentient principle only

o animal (adj) it is that which pertains to the physical, sensual, and carnal nature of mortals, rather than their spiritual or intellectual nature

o sentient (noun) it is the conscious mind and a person or thing that is sentient

*body Gk #4983 soma (so-mah) it is the body as a sound whole

• sound (adj) that describes what is…
 free from injury, damage, defect, and disease
 in good condition, healthy and robust
 competent, sensible, or valid
 has no defect as to truth, justice, wisdom, or reason
 of substantial or enduring character
 follows a systematic pattern without any apparent defect in logic
 deep, uninterrupted and untroubled
 vigorous, thorough, or severe
 free from moral defect or weakness
 loyal, honorable, upright, honest, or good
 has no legal defect and is theologically correct

All the above describe the spiritual nature of mortals who have been born-again of Christ the Word and the Holy Ghost. In Moses’s account of the creation, Yahweh created the physical or terrestrial body of mortals first from the dust of the earth. He writes,

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground…
[Gen 2:7a]

When the mortal lifetime expires, the terrestrial body returns to the earth from which it was created. Moses writes,

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
[Gen 3:19]

King Solomon writes,

Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern <all figurative of the mortal lifetime and that which signals its end>.
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit <breath of life> shall return unto God WHO gave it.
[Eccl 12:6, 7]

The terrestrial body serves as clothing for the spirit and soul bodies. In order to effectively govern and preserve it, one must submit it just as they do their soul and spirit to Yahweh. Apostle Paul writes,

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[Rm 12:1]

Into the terrestrial body the LORD blew a portion of HIS life source, which is the breath of life. Thereby, all earthly creatures become living things, namely mortals. Moses writes,

…and <GOD> breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
[Gen 2:7b]
Christ proclaimed that Yahweh is The God of the Living and not the dead, which gives credence to the idea that every living mortal has a portion of THE LORD living within them be they just or unjust. The Lord Jesus said,

God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
[Mt 22:32b]

Apostle Paul reiterates this idea at Mars Hill in Ephesus declaring,

For in HIM <Yahweh> we <every mortal> live, and move, and have our being;
[Acts 17:28a]

King Solomon likened the spirit and breath of life within living mortals, to a candle whereby Yahweh searches the inward parts of their belly which is figurative of their soul body. He writes,

The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly <or soul>.
[Pro 20:27]

This is why mortals cannot feign ignorance with Yahweh regarding their awareness of HIS sovereign existence, and intolerance of their willful disobedience. King Solomon writes,

If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not HE that pondereth the heart consider it? And He that keepeth thy soul, doth not HE know it? And shall not HE render to every man according to his works?
[Pro 24:12]

Apostle Paul writes,

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of HIM from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even HIS eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
[Rm 1:18-20]

The Lord Jesus said,

He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that <Christ the divine> light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil <and they did not want to change or repent of them>.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[St Jn 3:18-20]

When the terrestrial body expires and returns to dust, the spirit body returns to Yahweh. Moses writes,

And the LORD said, MY spirit it shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh:
[Gen 6:3a]

King Solomon writes,

And the spirit <or breath of life> shall return unto God WHO gave it.
[Eccl 12:7b]

When the terrestrial and spirit bodies are united, the soul body is initiated and mortals become living beings. Moses writes,

…and man became a living soul.
[Gen 2:7c]

The soul body is the unique heart, mind, and personality of each mortal being and is highly valued by Yahweh and Lucifer. It is of great value to Lucifer because it can serve as a channel through which his forces can exert schemes against mortal kind. The soul body is of great value to Yahweh because it is the temple of the Holy Ghost on earth.
Apostle Paul writes,

What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
[I Cor 7:19, 20]

Continuance in the Word of Christ keeps the soul body properly positioned in divine worship and liberated from the power of sin and all lying persuasions.

The Lord Jesus said,

But the hour cometh, and now is when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit <renewed intellect>, and in truth <reality>: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.
[St Jn 4:23, 24]

If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
[Jn 8:31, 32, 36]

Apostle Paul writes,

So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
[Rm 7:25b]

The soul body is continuously cleansed from all unrighteousness through confession and repentance of personal sins, practicing forgiveness and exercising faith in and the of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus said,

And forgive us our debts, as we forgiven our debtors.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
[Mt 6:12, 14, 15]

Apostle Paul writes,

The just shall live by faith.
[Rm 1:17b]

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the <Mosaic> law, but by the faith OF Jesus Christ, even we have believed IN Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith OF Christ, and not by the works of the <Mosaic> law;
For by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
[Gal 2:16, 20]

As THE LORD has indeed made morals triune beings, they do well to acknowledge themselves as such.
