Lesson 76 of 77
Never Turn Back
{See Lessons 7, 9, 18, 22, 23, 48}
By Lawrence DeMetrius
Love for Yahweh reaches full maturity when one recognizes and decides to lay down their own will to carry out HIS purpose for their life. Apostle John writes,
And hereby we do know that we know HIM, if we keep HIS commandments.
He that saith, I know HIM, and keepeth not HIS commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth HIS word, in HIM verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in HIM.
[I Jn 2:3-6]
And he that keepeth HIS commandments dwelleth in HIM, and HE in him. And hereby we know that HE abideth in us, by the Spirit which HE hath given us.
[I Jn 3:24]
Learning to relinquish one’s own will to carry out Yahweh’s requires unfeigned faith and sincere willingness to know one’s self as the force they are in the earth as a son. Apostle John writes,
He came unto His Own, and His own received Him not.
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[St Jn 1:11-13]
Apostle Paul writes,
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.
For whom HE did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of HIS Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover, whom HE did predestinate, them HE also called: and whom HE called, them HE also justified: and whom HE justified, them HE also glorified.
[Rm 8:28-30]
Never Turning Back from divine worship requires being resolved with the idea of Christ being one’s only acceptable righteousness in Yahweh’s perspective. Apostle Paul writes,
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.
[Rm 10:4]
But of HIM <Yahweh> are ye in Christ Jesus, Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
[I Cor 1:30]
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, WHO hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, in Christ:
According as HE hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before HIM in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to HIMSELF, according to the good pleasure of HIS will.
To the praise of the glory of HIS grace, wherein HE hath made us accepted in <Christ> the Beloved.
[Eph 1:3-6]
Apostle John writes,
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.
And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He <Christ> is pure.
[I Jn 3:1-3]
Proper acknowledgment of one’s carnal nature, inherited from Adam, and the fallen state it leaves all mortals in, including the Elect, helps one to wholly rely on the strength of Christ within to walk as uprightly as one can during their mortal lifetime. Apostle Paul writes,
For all have sinned <or have been enslaved to the power of sin>, and come short <present tense> of the glory of God;
Being justified freely by HIS grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His Blood, to declare HIS righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time HIS righteousness: that HE might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
[Rm 3:23-26]
The Lord Jesus said,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
[II Cor 12:9]
Although Christ is able to keep the Elect from falling and present them in the proper manner before Yahweh, it does not mean they will not faulter in conduct from time to time. Apostle Jude writes,
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
[Jude vs 24, 25]
Apostle John writes,
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
[I Jn 3:20, 21]
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not <under the control of sin’s power>; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
[I Jn 5:16-18]
It is through faith filled obedience to Christ the Word that one is able to keep their carnal nature under control, and to keep sin from maturing in their life unto death. Apostle Paul writes,
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
[II Cor 10:5]
Apostle James writes,
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth HE any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
[Jam 1:13-15]
The Elect must remain thankful unto Yahweh for the opportunity to humble themselves under HIS mighty hand, repent of any sin they may commit, and receive forgiveness whenever they need it. Prophet Jeremiah writes,
It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because HIS compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is THY faithfulness.
[Lam 3:22, 23]
Apostle John writes,
If we say that we have <present tense> no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned <been enslaved to the power of sin>, we make HIM a liar, and HIS Word <Christ> is not in us.
[I Jn 1:8-10]
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous:
And He is the Propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
[I Jn 2:1, 2]
Having obtained the benefit of new life in Christ, all redeemed mortals are admonished to remain steadfast in the divine faith given to them by Christ, and Never Turn Back to the enslavement of Lucifer and sin. The book of Hebrews notes,
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised;)
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back,
my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
[Heb 10:23, 35-39]
